Yep, my first job out of college, thanks to my experience managing the art supplies department at the UCSB bookstore my senior year! It introduced me to graphic design, for which I am grateful. And it cemented my loathing of working in retail.

Illustration board is a good economical choice for painting on with acrylics. When I worked at Flax I was taught to advise against natural bristle brushes, since acrylics are basically pigmented white glue that will stick more to hair than to synthetic fibers!

I went through this last fall and bought the larger one and regretted it - tablets don’t need to be huge. In the case it’s heavy and using it is kinda awkward! Go smaller…

The house was filled with smoke via the HVAC, and the attic and walls were saturated with water (but not burned). No immediate needs other than fortitude - house “looks” fairly normal inside and we just need to dismantle it. Thoughtful grandson pic for balance!

House fire. Destroyed garage, water and smoke took care of the rest. Much loss. Kind neighbor offered her attached apartment, so that is home for the time being. Yeah.

Friday night my biggest concern was that one of our cats peed on my pillow. A few hours later the universe said “hold my beer.” We are ok, cats are too, but damn these timeline shifts aren’t for sissies…
