"Institutions and technologies such as poorly trained algorithms can perpetuate biases unintentionally, and examining those structures can help us create fairer policies."
"Historical policies (e.g., redlining, segregation) continue to have lingering effects, even if individuals today may not personally hold racist views."
In the face of more executive orders attempting to limit education, let's talk about what we can say:
"There are policies and structures in the history of the U.S. that have led to racially unequal outcomes, and those systems influence decisions today."
