I watched C4's 'Dirty Business' and am now seriously contemplating joining XR's boycott of payment of water bills. I can't countenance paying companies who are illegally dumping millions of litres of sewage into our rivers and seas while bosses and shareholders take home huge bonuses & profits.

I would have loved to be at the Together march against the far right in London yesterday. It looks absolutely brilliant. I was at Bristol’s Trans Pride instead. It was great to show some solidarity with a community that is so much maligned at the moment. Some of the speeches were heartbreaking.

Home - Not in our name Not In our Name: Women in support of the trans+community

Transphobes do not represent the overwhelming majority of women. The @nionwomen.bsky.social petition is to show this. They now need only just over 4,000 more signatures to make it to 100,000.

If you don’t want to be used as an excuse to take away trans people’s human rights, please sign & share

The morning after Hannah won I was asked time and time again about this.

There was no evidence for it. Instead the establishment media fuelled the fire.

It was Islamaphobic. And it's because those in power are scared of us ending rip off Britain.

A billionaire can get what they want with one donation to a political party. The rest of us must fight for years to get even the most basic rights recognised. Money destroys democracy, more than any other cause. The first step towards a better world is to stop the rich buying political outcomes.

The mainstream is catching up with Zack. But they will pretend not to notice that they're now saying what they were vilifying him for saying a couple of weeks ago.

A message to other England & Wales Green Party groups. Bristol Green Party are beginning to see lies and misinformation about our record being circulated in local election leaflets around the country. Do please contact us if this happens in your area and we can give you the truth. 💚

Gosh.

A franchised Bus Service delivering services that people both need and want.

Can't wait for this to happen in the West of England Combined Authority area.

Might have to wait while though, because it's not in the Mayors Transport Vision.

Yesterday, our PCC Clare Moody was asked to stand up for a change in drug policy, given the ongoing failure of the war on drugs and the impact of drug use. But she said there was "contradictory evidence".

The Green Party has an evidence-based drug policy. Labour should engage with it, not smear it.

What we see here is something very common: that people treated by the media - inc the BBC - as neutral, dispassionate and reliable are actually deeply embedded in capitalism and all its myths. They are as partisan as anyone else. They sound neutral because what they say aligns with "common sense".

Bold Politics with Zack Polanski: We Need Water Nationalisation Now | Feargal Sharkey What is the reason that Labour haven’t nationalised the water industry yet? Why are international investors making economic decisions for our country over our democratically elected politicians? ...

And while you are at, listen to Feargal Sharkey on the Bold Politics podcast. He deconstructs the Labour government's misinformation about what it would take to re-nationalise the water industry - a Green Party policy. podfollow.com/bold-politic...

Dirty Business Shocking real-life drama about the muck in our water and a corporate scandal

I cannot recommend watching C4's Dirty Business highly enough. It's a brilliant depiction of what has happened to UK waterways since the industry was privatised and we should all be furious. www.channel4.com/programmes/d...

Just heard an item on R4 news - joking about how journalists can just call up the leader of the free world and talk to him. He asks 'who's calling?' at the start of the call - so no security concerns there. I found the jovial tone of the piece about this threat to global security really alarming.

The key point of the Mandelson issue is that Starmer knew Mandelson remained friends with Epstein post his conviction for sexual abuse, but didn't care enough about it not to appoint him. It was only when Mandelson's dodgy business dealings became clear he got upset. To women, this says it all.

Congratulations to @theloopuk.bsky.social on the launch of London's first drug checking service. It took them 14 years to get permission. I wish govt would put harm reduction measures that save lives above the posturing that we can arrest our way out of the problem. wearetheloop.org/media-centre...

Two points:

1. They’re not “expats” they’re “migrants.”

2. Them abandoning their pets will hopefully give each and every one of these people just a little bit of insight into the incredibly hard decisions refugees have to make when they’re fleeing war zones.

Price of the White House ballroom now at $400 million and rising. Which is still relatively cheap when you consider that would only buy four fighter jets for Kuwait to shoot down and, hey, that barely gets us through a day of a fresh Mideast war.

Really valid question from Jim Caris here. I was absolutely appalled at the way, Labour smeared and misrepresented Green Party Drug policy in the recent by-election. Legally regulating drugs is not easy to explain to the public but it’s the right thing to do. We can never ban drugs into oblivion.

For Labour, "taking on" Reform means copying their rhetoric and implementing their policies.

But when Labour wants to "take on" the Greens, they reach straight for smears and lies. Why isn't the "steal their policies and rhetoric" approach an option for them in this case? (I know why and so do you)

Walking and cycling in Bristol save NHS more than £15m a year Bristol's transport supremo says there is a "clear mandate" to continue with active travel initiatives across the city

A vitally importance statistic about the benefits of active travel - which schemes like the ostensibly controversial East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood are designed to support. The more people understand this, the bigger the quiet majority who support it becomes.
