Because look, here's the thing: If I had NO IDEA who Hasan Piker was, you gave me this poll, I asked a follow-up and you said "He's a political podcaster!" ?

I would check "UNFAVORABLE!" without knowing a single other thing 😉🤷‍♂️

It also lends all that trollish corporate fanfic about LFL over the years the slimmest veneer of plausibility, which bothers me on multiple levels.

I’ll bet a lot of folks had that problem, and I don’t think it’s so much about the lore/continuity as a presentation issue.

There was absolutely a way to execute that series, even keeping the basic story intact, that would not alienate newbies. Unfortunately, they chose the opposite way.

Also, COVID sprinkled throughout for a few key production years, like some malevolent seasoning.

Howdy, Marillos! Nice to have you here.

Would that I could see the tour, but I’m stuck stateside. Hopefully that won’t be an impediment forever, cause I adore your shows.

And even worse is that so many of these anti-fandom people think they’re being fight-the-power iconoclasts when they’re just being assholes. And it’s not accomplishing anything.

It’s #TransformersTuesday! There are quite a few versions of an “evil Optimus” in the canon, and NEMESIS PRIME* is one of my faves. This mold is based on the Transformers Animated version of the character, so it’s a little extra stylized, and I just really dig that color scheme.

"Anti-fandom" - as in "Obsessing over the how much you DON'T like a thing" as much or MORE than some people fixate on how much the LIKE things - is an absolute plague on all of modern culture. In particular, the version that dwells on things they USED to like and no longer do.

Monkey Gods? Witches? The children of gods? Giant monsters? No, no, that's modern infantilism. Back in the day the greatest stories were about actuarial sciences and wood grain.

A digital illustration done in simple contour lines and rough pencil coloring on neutral tinted paper background of a woman reclining on a surface in a faint. Seen from a foreshortened angle from her knees and feet. She’s laying on one hip with her torso twisting to supine. The back of one hand lays across her forehead and the other is held limply on her ribs. Her head is back and her red curls spread out on the ground around her. She’s wearing a white, voluminous and old fashioned night dress. Orange lettering in an Art Nouveau style to the right reads ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

First time watching Devil Wears Prada. Had fun, I’m down for the sequel.

The Drama, er… lived up to its title.

Hoppers was a gosh darned delight.

Hadn’t seen P&T since the 90s. Has aged kinda bumpily, but not without its charms. Airport scene still slays me.

I was a mostly lurker/semi poster on rec arts tv for a time. That was… an unwieldy experience.

For show-specific fandom, it was Buffy via TWOP and Whedonesque.

I think Leia’s outfit is maybe closer to Endor, but with a vest and gloves instead of the camo poncho?
