I hope that, in small ways, I’m now able to encourage younger colleagues and affirm the exciting potential they bring to the field—something I especially appreciate when I think back to my own early conference experiences. Is it getting better?
Listening to their presentations was genuinely inspiring and reminded me of how important conferences can be as spaces for emerging scholars to test ideas and find their voices.
Made it through AAS this year while battling multiple rounds of jet lag. I also had the impression that there were more panels composed of PhD students than in previous years.
