🗣️Despite intense lobbying from the oil and gas industry to have the Windfall Tax removed, the public backs keeping it, with 53% saying scrapping it now would be wrong and just 22% disagreeing. That support is a majority across every party and every part of the country.

BREAKING 🚨: Cambo is back for round two.
Last time this massive oil field was on the table, thousands of people across the world fought back and we won - forcing Shell to pull out from the project.
We’ve buried Cambo once, we’ll do it again.
Screensgrabbed text reading: It has already been shown, by authorities including the UK Energy Research Centre, that new drilling would not reduce oil and gas prices, or improve the UK’s energy security. It is also unlikely to produce durable jobs or major new tax revenues, as 90% of the UK’s North Sea oil and gas has already been burned, putting the industry in steep and irrecoverable decline. Companies are also demanding tax breaks to tap the new fields, which are harder to access than existing supplies.
New North Sea drilling would make no real difference to UK gas imports, data shows

We can bring down energy bills for the long term by backing renewables and ensuring our homes don’t waste energy.
More oil will only benefit oil companies & their wealthy shareholders.

Fossil fuel bosses are only interested in themselves. 🤑
Calls for new North Sea drilling are a cynical, selfish attempt to exploit this latest crisis.
The next Scottish Government must deliver positive climate solutions that improve people's lives – like better buses, warm homes and green jobs 🚌
We’ve drafted a short email action with key demands that you can send to Party Leaders.
Take action:
The Scottish Government recently published their new Circular Economy Strategy for Scotland.
They recognised the need to change the way materials are used - but it's not strong enough to hold corporations to account for their damaging practices.

A recent study found that half of Scots blame the greedy energy companies for our high bills.
It's time to take the power back and make sure our energy system serves us first! ⚡️

⚠️ Tonight's event postponed due to illness! ⚠️
We'll contact everyone who signed up with a new rescheduled date - apologies!
It wont, of course. Experience shows us that carbon capture will inevitably fail to deliver.
Instead we should have got a Plan for real investment in climate solutions that improve lives - warmer homes, better buses and green jobs in renewable energy.
Storegga actually announced it was selling its share between the draft and final versions of this Climate Plan. (awkward)
But instead of changing course, Scottish Ministers are doubling down, blaming Westminster and basically hoping that the fantasy sold to them by oil lobbyists comes true.
Ministers are gambling that this tech can cut the equivalent of 1/3 of Scottish climate pollution by end of the next decade.
There is no working carbon capture plant in Scotland, no planning application submitted and the lead developer of the flagship Scottish project has quit.
Scotland's Climate Plan is being undermined before it has even got going.
Ministers are far too reliant on dodgy carbon capture technology to make their sums add up.
This is despite warnings, independent advice and numerous examples of carbon capture failures.
2 days to go! ⏰ Join our next National Meeting at 6.30pm on Wed 25th March - we'll be discussing practical skills to talk about climate.
