Pretty wild that a serious and common bug like this goes unpatched for so long. Requiring the user to either switch desktop environment completely or force terminal view and kill gnome (also crashing whatever application I was running at the same time)
Update after first week of fully committing to Linux; Went with PopOS. Quickly ran into an issue with freezes which apparently has been an existing bug for 3+ years.
Turns out switching desktop environment from Gnome to KDE Plasma did the trick.
Tbh I’m having an easier time catching up with posts by people I follow here. For some reason the Following-tab feels less hidden away, and the discover tab isn’t just full of posts made by one rich guy.

It is refreshing to read posts written by real humans.

I've never liked the Zuck, but he seems way likeable than the other guy at the moment.
I think it comes down to this platform pretty much being good old Twitter, without 10.000 russian bots
Gonna be interesting to see if this trend holds up.
This app is wildly more pleasant than the alternative.
Deactivated Twitter account. New platform, new me.
