Probably not suspicious that Trump fired his Navy Secretary in the middle of a naval blockade.

This nomination belongs to all of us, y'all. 🥰
Hmm. When I first watched “The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes,” I missed the subtext.
Or was that the “above-text”?
Why oh why am I writing Quatermass and the Pit* slash?
I mean... Because I can, I guess? Because I want to.👽
• The BBC version by the way.
This is a valid point: whenever you see this sort of high-pressure sales tactic turned on a technology, you can be CERTAIN that it's a fake—actually useful new tech sells itself!
And don't underestimate the effectiveness of FOMO as a tool in the hands of a con artist.
I love it when Google Images asks “Remember this day?” And it’s something like a photo of Andrew Keir and James Donald looking at the Martian in “Quatermass and the Pit.”
Hey, Google. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t there. Unless I’m the Martian. 😏
Did…the Trump regime lowkey threaten to kill the pope?
Always exciting to see the Avignon Papacy in the news
Screenshot of a Twitter exchange in which user @kimerrikin notes that the city of Lynchburg VA declared April 7 2008 to be Leland Melvin Day, and Leland Melvin (@Astro_Flow) thanking them for reminding him.
Happy Leland Melvin day to all who celebrate. 💚
Then again, the author is a woman, so that might explain some of the responses...
Get a grip, people!
Also, the later books did have quite a bit of (positive) sexual experiences for Ayla. But that doesn't make the whole thing "porn." There were more sections about Cro-Magnon crafts and about herbs and animals than about sex. But people would rather sneer and call the books "porn."
I think some people never read it but like to pronounce this incorrect view of it. Others read only passages in a dog-eared paperback that got passed around -- and thinks that makes them experts.
Why do so many people belittle "Clan of the Cave Bear" by calling it "porn"? In the first book, the only sexual experience Ayla had was being SA'ed by Broud. And they didn't happen until far into the book. If you were turned on by that, that seems like a You problem.
By pinching pennies. His daytime courtroom shows look so cheap I’m surprised the sets don’t collapse. He also controversially laid off local meteorologists to save money on The Weather Channel.
Now I’m just a backwoods small town hyperchicken, but it seems to me that if a company is big enough to existentially threaten the government then you don’t actually have a functioning government anymore.
An online bio of Scottish actor James Donald that suddenly morphs into a bio about British actor Donald Pleasence.
What in the AI is this? This biography of James Donald morphs into a bio of Donald Pleasence! 🤦♀️It also refers to Donald Pleasence as a Scottish actor?!
And I'm sure they didn't pay Getty for the rights to that photo.
Your federal government on Trumpism:
"More than 10,000 veterans lost their homes to foreclosure since May 2025, when the Trump administration shut down a key safety net in the VA home loan program...
"Another 90,000 vets are heading toward foreclosure..."

Two archaeologists stand in a trench looking at an unearthed, fossilised, time machine and a tyrannosaurus skull in whose jaws is a human skeleton holding an aerosol can. One says: “These fossils would appear to suggest that, while Professor Cooper's time machine was a great success, his dinosaur repellent formula was not.”

Pilgrim I literally never read a prologue on principle alone. If it's that important, it should be in the book.
Doyle789 I agree completely. The epilogues and prologues aren't part of the story. If they were important they would be part of the story. People write forwards for books, that's just another person writing about what they thought about the book or author... I assume that's what author is doing in the prologue and epilogues
Erin I agree. I feel like it's stuff that wasn't good enough to be in the book 20h Reply 100
dude epilogues and prolouges to me are equivalent to dvd bonus features and are therefore skippable unless you're really into it 8h Reply • 255
I do not take booktok seriously and I never will. What the fuck you mean the epilogue and prologue “aren’t part of the book/story”???????
A couple reading in bed. She holds a thick novel he holds something much slimmer. Him "We must beware the tyranny of the long novel. Length is no barometer of literary merit." He continues"I have scoured the bookstore, looked past the fat spines and sought out perfection in the miniature!" He concludes "May not profundity dwell in the humble cottage As comfortably as in the sprawling castle?" Her, without looking up from her book, "100% agree. But you're aware that's a greetings card, right?"

The Supreme Court did not strike down conversion therapy bans today.
Not nationwide. Not in Colorado. Not anywhere.
Here's what actually happened in Chiles v. Salazar—and why the coverage you're seeing serves the conservative legal movement more than it serves you.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility. We existed before the government decided to make us their pet project, and we will continue to exist no matter how hard they try and erase us.
Build community and protect it. Keep giving ‘em hell.
Reminder: the Federal Reserve has opened a proposal for public comment on "reputation risk" discrimination in banking.
Public comments have been surging, and the new FTC action shows this issue is getting harder to ignore. Keep the pressure on.

We've lost a trailblazer, a mentor, and a friend. Dr. Henry C. Lee changed the field of forensic science, but just as importantly, he inspired and guided so many here in Connecticut, including myself. His legacy will live on.
I was talking to someone today who had literally no idea JK Rowling was a bigot. They're never online, they saw the movies and liked them, and planned on watching the show. I told them about Rowling's behavior and they're disgusted; but they sincerely had never heard it before. I'm saying this bc
AI Overview text stating “British actor André Morell typically appeared to have light-colored eyes, likely blue or grey…”
A photograph of André Morell with eyes that appear to be brown.
AI Overview: Claims that British actor André Morell had light-colored eyes.
Uhm… Could that be because the AI was analyzing eye color from black-and-white movie stills?
Do those eyes look light-colored to you? 🧐
This is why I try to skip the AI overview.
