Beautiful banksia flowing right now in my garden. Cylindrical flower spike with a golden-yellow base and reddish styles. Bringing me delight! Loving creating an Australian native garden

Today I’m working on a book chapter about how #LearningAndDevelopment professionals can take charge of their own development. Reflecting on how connecting with others on Twitter and n 2014 put me on a new growth trajectory and radically shifted my professional path.
It’s a mix of science (mostly about how our cells function, impact of factors such as nutrition, light, sleep) and practical application. I found the science a bit dry - but an important body of evidence. The practices are gold.
Have been on a good health quest for past two months. Finding practical ideas from #GoodEnergy by Dr Casey Means super useful. Great underpinning science too. Feeling very good lately.
Trying to get balance right for in my feed between news from US, Australia (where I live) and other parts of the world. Any good accounts to follow for #AustralianNews ? Or global news. Don’t want posts with links that are behind paywalls
Didn’t mean to ghost you. Not something I’m interested in exploring. This is a small scale home garden hobby for me
I’ve not put much effort / time / energy into engaging on Blue Sky. Think I got used to not integrating this kind of engagement into the flow of my work and life when Twitter became less useful. Now wondering if I will rebuild engagement here.

Nice start to the day - paddling on our local lake. I’m breaking in my inflatable kayak - love that I can get it from home to the lakes edge and back on foot on my own
Just started reading The Skills-Powered Organization. Skills is focus of one of the chapters in the book I’m co-writing. I’m refining the draft of this chapter.
Small home veggie patch. I only planted one of this variety. Looks great is like I’ll get 6-10 fruit off the one plant. I have expect they could be grown commercially
I gave it a little TLC. Mother Nature did most of the work
The Limitations of Self-Testing in Learning
Self-testing via unstructured self-generated questions isn't inherently beneficial. Structured practice materials and guidance are critical for maximising the benefits of testing as a learning strategy. #EduSky

I’m a big worm fan. Great for composting and fertilising the garden
This is midday Wednesday at n Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time. I can’t make it this week but will pop it into my calendar for the future. Great to see this back!
My home grown tomato weighed 500 grams. It is tasted delicious too! Grown organically in soil enriched with my own compost and worm farm ‘juice.’
Poor cats! Hi there Bruno - nice to cross paths again
Coila Beach - a short rest stop on my local walk. 2.5km from home. I’ve set the intention to #walk 10,000 steps per day - not just in 2025 but always. Inspired to keep myself in shape for developments in #RadicalLifeExtension
Working on #AI Playbook ep of #LearningUncut podcast with key practices & advice from guest case studies. Key themes: (1) Start with business problems(2) Experiment & iterate (3) Go for short-term wins & long-term gains (4) Build relationships & collaborate (5) Emphasise the human element
Do you know why Miro triggers your migraine!
Special request - Australian friendly time for #Learnchat if possible.
Ha! Now I'm feeling my age - I do know what #LearnChat is!
I did think briefly of Padlet. I found a ready-made template I liked on Miro so have adapted that. (I get what you mean about the 'infinite space' on Miro) Will try out Padlet next time.
I'm preparing to run an end-of project phase #restrospective - I used to use Jamboard for these but tool is no longer available. Apart from Miro what other easy to use, firewall-proof tools do you suggest for this purpose?
Time to start reflecting on 2024 and setting intentions for 2025. Recorded end of year #LearningUncut podcast ep with Chemene Sinson today. Appreciated the different lens she brought to looking at 2024 ep. Firming up by intent to start a fortnightly chat about most recent ep on this platform.
L&D people, I'd recommend following @dani-johnson.bsky.social for her tireless research and insight into our field.
Went beach fishing after work. Came home to find an #echidna meandering across my driveway. Followed it and watched it curl up under a bush pretending it wasn’t there :-) I looked up to see a #tawnyfrogmouth owl looking straight at me from on top of a post 2 metres away. Magic moment!
I've taken a couple of days off book writing to get business management tasks up to date and work on AITD capability framework project. Getting my head back into writing today - feel like I've lost momentum. (Hence I'm here posting/procrastinating!)
