Me, with a Christmas wreath around my head and face, smiling and holding my hands in celebratory exclamation 🙌🏻 I’m wearing my hair long past my shoulders, a white knee length puffer coat over grey sweater and blue jeans.

Went to the Ticats locker room sale first thing this morning, then to our church bakesale and tea luncheon and it was an all around GoodDay 🙌🏻

I had been sampling beer flights one summer and lamented that Soup Flights aren’t a thing only to be told that they are, indeed!

A vintage black-and-white cartoon illustration of two hockey players in full uniform shaking hands and smiling broadly, with speech bubbles saying "Merry" and "Christmas" above their heads. The player on the left wears a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey with a large maple leaf logo, while the player on the right wears a Montreal Canadiens jersey with a "CH" logo. Both wear skates, gloves, and hockey pants. Christmas holly and berries decorate the borders, and one player holds a small wreath with a bow. Signed "Les Kanester" in the bottom right corner.

For about 50 years, you could watch NHL games on Christmas.
The last Christmas game was played in 1971 and there is no chance they will ever return as the players hated the games.
This is the story of the NHL's Christmas Games.

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

I’m not sure I was being complimentary of the production value tbh I know CFL needs to grow viewership and sustain seats but I like it. And I have my own theory on the rule changes

Production value of NFL is outrageous after watching CFL all season

Advent is a strangely thrilling season. As nature prepares herself for the long and frozen sleep of winter, the Church calls the spirit to awake. As the days grow darker, and light fails, the Church calls us to open our eyes to the rising of a new, glorious sun ⚓

Thanks for your response. I deleted my question because I did not understand this association when I asked

I am feeling called to do this again…

I only went on this adventure last year because I was trying to find a Church home in the region yet the experience itself was so intrinsically fulfilling

I’ve tried to reflect if I’m seeking or avoiding but I’m just a nerd and truly enjoyed this adventure

Hey friend! I’d love to talk to you more about this experience

🤷 dunno?
From my understanding of the comment replies it was a historic thing in the Methodist church and now mainly a thing for social media people and bigots

Genuine question - do you think there’s a space for non-bigoted preaching of this nature or is it too intrinsically tied to those who hate gay people?

4 months ago 1 0 1 0

I asked thinking about the concept of preachers travelling to multiple parishes but not assigned to any.

Interesting perspective re: social media, hadn’t thought about it like this. Thanks

Interesting, and unfortunate. Most of my ancestors were Methodist and/or United and I’ve been looking into the history of how those churches grew around our area of Niagara. I was interested by a diary entry I came across about her interest (or lack thereof) in various visiting preachers.

I made it to a service every single Sunday from Advent to Easter and … most? Sundays the rest of the year. Also a significant amount of in-person Morning Prayer.

I feel like I’ve grown significantly in my spiritual self identity, learned quite a lot and met some incredible people.

Graphic Map of Anglican Churches found in Lincoln Region within Diocese of Niagara

I spent Advent - Easter on an intentional ‘pilgrimage’ of sorts visiting every church in my region of the Anglican Diocese of Niagara.

I picked one of them and spent the remainder of 2025 Ordinary Time at St. Alban’s Anglican in Beamsville,ON
