I was already in the middle of The Raven Scholar when this dropped and wow, what a book it is. Those of you who recommended it were not kidding. If you have been letting it idle in your TBR like I did for far too long it’s time to get reading.

Having seen it, I will say that Nicholas Christopher very much deserves the Tony nomination he’s likely to get. Also this is the actual staging of the Arbiter number which will give you some of the Narrator’s flavor: youtu.be/b7Jvkl5FhZE?...
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."
I’m (still) the only candidate in this race who is neither a billionaire nor taking corporate PAC money. Our campaign is powered by tens of thousands of Californians.
That’s who the next governor should be focused on—not themselves, not their donors, not any insiders.
Unless I missed a nomination somewhere, these two: reactormag.com/all-that-mea... and www.uncannymagazine.com/article/10-v...
I was on my way here to say this. It's not finished (yet) but it's genderflipped Alexander the Great in space and I love it.
Screenshot from Twin Peaks, caption reads "Diane, 11:30 am, February 24th. Entering the town of Twin Peaks."
It's a national holiday
Poster for the disaster movie Greenland 2
I am pretty sure I figured out what the hospital ship to Greenland thing is all about.
On a black background, bold white decorative text says NEW BLOG POST. Smaller white type says link in bio.
Hey, my petits choux-fleurs, we have a new blog post with updates on bookstore fundraising! What has happened so far? What needs to happen? Visit crossandcrows.blogspot.com to find out, and help us get where we're going, if you're inclined.

Mine was probably The Village. I watched at least one subsequent Shyamalan on cable, but that was the last one I paid for.
Not that I remember, but it was a smaller city. My mom had read the book (I did shortly after) and was eager to see the film.
I was so surprised to see it left off the Locus list - I sent the link to so many people when I read it last year. Absolutely in my top five. (All of that also is the same for Ruthanna Emrys' All That Means or Mourns.)
Probably Memento, which I had to drive a ways to see, or the original Dune (Lynch).
Hear some of this bookstore's regulars and supporters talking to @gkam.bsky.social from @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social about why they love us and are determined to keep us around!

This picture made my kid's day.
One of my bookseller besties from back in the day now has a small bookstore in BC. She's been surrounded by neighborhood construction that's disrupted business and could use some support. If you want to buy books, they ship to the US and Canada. If you just want to help, visit the GFM.
I found a flow chart online for reading order and will follow it. :)
I just finished Victoria Goddard's The Hands of the Emperor, which I found intensely comforting - low conflict, deep friendships, and a main character who regularly speaks truth to power and gets heard.
I just finished it and found it deeply comforting, probably in part because Kip speaks truth to power and actually gets heard.
First new book purchase of the new year for me! Love this series.
And I already replied once but that was before I knew about this: www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainmen...
A lot of the things I'm eager to read are showing up on all the lists, but one that I haven't seen featured yet is Jenn Lyons' Green & Deadly Things, which is out in March.
It’s SO good.
If you haven’t read Vo’s The City In Glass, I recommend you follow your Cleric Chih binge with that one.
Could be!
Rabbit Test. Mills is a tremendous talent and the titular story more than earned its Hugo. But I would also have a box of Kleenex handy for potential tears.
