here the same gas line that feeds the furnace feeds the water heater.. there is an electric option that mounts to wall and 'apparently' provides instant hot water to every tap

SO the city is fixing the sewer and water pipes to all the homes in the area.. For an undetermined amount of time our water will be coming from fire hydrants through pipes and hoses connected to the outdoor garden hose taps...
