Facebook refugees. I just block em. Very annoying.

this is important to get your head around the basic shape of water use out West. farmers get the overwhelming majority of it--far more than all industry and cities put together--and pay almost nothing for it
Uath Mammoth
Nothing beats that top notch Fanatics quality
Right. Doesn’t most of that alfalfa get exported and used as animal feed?
first two albums are great.
arguing that will also get you in trouble.
Palantir are about six months away from ordering their employees to leave audio logs scattered around their offices
Gonna spend the next two years spamming every elected Dem about the concept of "damnatio memoriae." Chisel his name off every inscription. Build over the various Trump Towers like they're Nero's Golden House. Remove him from physical memory, not to forget but as a sign of disrespect to the man.
Yellowish rocks comprise most of this outcrop scene. Darker, brown rocks cap the outcrop. Trees and vegetation are widespread. There is a person for scale at centre left.
See those yellowish rocks?
They're about 1.4 billion years old.
The rocks on top are around 500 million years old.
This is part of the Great Unconformity, where almost a billion years of Earth's history is just... missing.
That’s awesome
Quote with a live album where you were there for the actual show.
Opeth - Garden of the Titans: live at red rocks amphitheater.
(Absolutely mid show all around but I think this is the only live album recording I’ve been present for)
And then you end up with insane shit like TABOR
I don’t see how Democrats, when they return to power, can continue to fund Palantir (well, I can imagine how they would, but they shouldn’t). Find yourself a Democrat who looks at the security state the same way Russell Vought looks at CDC and NIH.
This is the exact same threat the president was making when he was threatening to end Iranian civilization but nobody’s going to bat an eye at it because you can’t misread it as “he’s going to use nukes”
Yep. Was usually a bottle of it in the fridge growing up. 80s/90s in Colorado.
Nothing could go wrong if you opened that. Certainly not.
Getting a kick out of this of course, but i need these two teams to go the full 7 and just beat the shit out of each other before round 2.
Hell yea. Nothing like a good day at the ballpark
I thought about the Montreal one. I’m supposed to be going to the Minnesota show and San Antonio show. But uh. Yea we’ll see 😂
Me and a group friends bought a bunch of tickets for a couple of Iron Maiden shows this year and we can’t remember who got tickets for whom for which show 😂 not the first time this has happened, you’d think we’d learn to spreadsheet this shit at purchase time but alas
I hear ya. I was super skeptical of all of this for a long time. I still am in some ways. And I still have some serious concerns and apprehensions about it. But can’t deny the usefulness at this point. Especially when it comes to coding tasks. And since code is my job, I have to figure this out.
I spent years working more as a data scientist / data engineer (I do less of that now) and most of the code I wrote for that work was short lived. Just a graveyard of Jupyter notebooks. At some point I’d take the good bits and build it into thing that required care and feeding.
100%. It’s all about guardrails and the surrounding tooling. Absolutely. But if you invest in those guardrails, you can get some good stuff out of Claude code. But it takes work to do that.
Yes, that is a lot of code. I just have an expansive and dependent view of what quality is.
I wish I could talk more about what I do for work without getting death threats. I think about robot output quality all the time and write and maintain a platform for measuring it.
And throwing together a pile of code that you’re not going to keep that solves an immediate problem is very inexpensive to do now. That’s useful. Sorry
Sometimes elegance and reuse and blah blah are important. Sometimes just need a thing to work for a couple days.
I think the post you’re referring to is exaggerating. And I don’t read it as some flex either. But it also doesn’t matter. If it solves a problem or does a thing you need for whatever reason, run a bunch of ML and scrappers to make some charts, whatever, great job done!
Folks on here have some very bizarre ideas about “code” and its usages, its preciousness, software, building software, and running and maintaining complex software systems etc
Throw Claude in the mix and they go from bizarre to deranged.
Also, Supreme Court justices should be forced to ride the circuit. On horses. Nasty, mean, bitey horses.
