About to enter my very own cost of living crisis...

In an Easter of home improvements it's now time to get a quote for a new boiler. Luckily it looks like the whole process for a ground floor flat with limited options due to a long flue is going to be an absolutely massive ballache.
However, Lily's room looms and it will be my Everest. Having a teenager is great until it comes to surfaces.
Every day I'm tackling a different room in my flat and giving it a thorough spring clean. I thought I'd started with the easy rooms (living room, kitchen) but each has taken me hours as I am cleaning absolutely everything and everywhere. Luckily, I absolutely love a deep clean. It gives my brain joy
Last Easter was Amsterdam. This year Belfast. Since it appears we've accidentally fallen into city-breaking our way through the alphabet it looks like it'll be Copenhagen next year.
Lily and I are on an Easter Break to Belfast and having a lovely time of it. Yesterday we tripped up the coast to the Giant's Causeway which I was quite prepared to be blasé about but I can't because it was properly amazing. Well played nature!
If you think this is exhausting, imagine being Iranian.
Children at an Edinburgh hospital painted pebbles for the penguins at Edinburgh Zoo and will be able to watch them choose and present them to their mates via livestream.

Aesop: I TOLD YOU
Vested interest, of course, as my entire job revolves around creating pathways for young people to get into the sector. But Christ, can we make sure there's an industry to go into, please?
Here's the thing - SNL UK was good, so that's great. But even if it hadn't been, it should still be given the time and space to evolve. The Creative Industries are in a tricky space right now so we need visible mainstream successes.
Was going to slag off Chortle for posting a grammatically incompetent review within seconds of SNL finishing but realised I wrote 'Thats' in my last post so whither my high moral ground?
Yeah. Thats was great. Everyone single sketch got a guffaw from my face. Strongest was probably 45 seconds with Fouracre, Undérage and the Princess Di performance. Weakest was probably Shakespeare, but what a pleasing 80 minutes. Well done all involved.
That's what I was just thinking. Exactly the type of thing this show needs - good sketches and performances that nail them. I think it's doing well so far.
Yeah. This. Let's get more comedy on the telly rather than having it all be Mrs Browns Bloody Boys.
The undérage sketch was properly good.
Very much enjoying SNL UK so far.
Yasssss!
Alyssa Liu you have won my heart for that McArthur Park skate. What an absolute disco delight.
Half of those will be from classes I've taught this to as a media text.
She never lived to see this moment, but it’s worth remembering that none of this would have happened without Virginia Giuffre.
She had the courage to speak out against power and privilege when it was just her word against Andrew’s.
Thanks to her, justice & accountability may finally have its day.
Somewhere, somehow, at a right-wing tabloid, the most deranged Meghan story of all time is being birthed
When's Trump's birthday?
Coincidently I'm currently in the middle of watching the Netflix doc on Epstein so the anger is bubbling pretty close to the surface.
If only this were the start of many, many arrests. We really should stop letting rich people do what they want to the rest of us.

I've been watching the Winter Olympics on Discovery+ and it has been a very good decision. Well done Mikhail, who can't quite believe what has happened to him this evening.
Laurence's arms should win an Olympic gold on their own.
Although after watching the European Championships they were a welcome break from Ricky bloody Martin.
The ice dance scores are pleasingly as they should be. The French routine was absolutely spellbinding - mad that it's been such a short partnership. Shame for the USA as they are also brilliant, delighted for the Canadians as I very much enjoy their vibe Also, lesson to GB - never rely on bagpipes.
You'll need to put your sound on because Figure Skating is in the middle of a breakdown and it is immensely entertaining.
