All of our cats have been _strictly_ indoor cats. I do think Cassidy would kind of enjoy going out on a harness, but I do NOT want her to think that outside=happy fun time, so we've never done it

if the only response you ever have to anything is cynicism and sarcasm, you aren't nearly as intelligent or interesting as you think. you're just a broken record trying _desperately_ to seem smarter than you are

ah yes people think they can respond to this with classic internet snark. I will block you for it. I don't care if we're mutuals.

last i saw the little guy he was walking down a residential court looking at some people unloading a car. hopefully they know him or can get closer to him. he wanted no part of me.

I am so tired of people in this area who take their dogs out without a leash, people who put their cats outside (I am against this, sorry if you're not but don't @ me), a pet is not just something you can ignore. Take responsibility you absolute mugs

While out for a walk after work finished I saw a little dog kind of wandering around a neighborhood, close to a road where people drive way too fast. His coat was long and not very well kempt, and he was absolutely not going to come near me, but at least I did kind of 'scare' him away from the road

I've been reliably putting money into an IRA and now a 401k for like 15 years, saving and saving, and I don't expect to be able to retire. It's a rigged game.

I will never forget sitting in a faculty meeting when a financial advisor told us all if we weren’t putting AT LEAST 15% of our salaries into his company’s IRA plan we were wasting and the roiling of angry laughter left him stunned

it is absolutely deranged that the common expectation is that americans will fund old age and disability through LIQUID FINANCIAL SPECULATION

I mean is there _any_ chance Kraft fires a coach for a serious ethical violation? I'm not a betting man but I wouldn't put a DIME on it

at most he'll get some meaningless 1 game suspension or something

Good. That was a play a professional LFer should make and Bradish didn't deserve it.

I believe that "decision fatigue" or something like it can absolutely be real. I also don't think a single billionaire has or ever will suffer from it, and saying they do is just another piece of PR-flack buffed mythos making bullshit.

Adley back, yes good but if he needs to ease in, DH him. If he’s at C then keep Sammy’s bat in the lineup after last night

The Orioles get reinforcements in the form of Adley Rutschman. They activate the catcher off the injured list and designated Sam Huff for assignment

all my life, dentist trips have been annoying *at best* and sometimes the slider goes up to infuriating/painful/ruinous of peace and joy

I have to leave for *five minute long indrawn breath of resignation* the dentist

There's a shop in Buffalo, NY, that ships pies, sausages, and other British foods all over the USA (don't know if they ship to Canada or how expensive it would be) but the pies, pasties, and puddings are always excellent. Called "Parkers GBI" if you wanna look em up

Oh, would. WOULD.

I am here for all the savory puddings too

I actually kind of have a weakness for the sweet puddings around Christmas and such but they are a huge investment of time&effort compared to more contemporary desserts and so I don't try to inflict them on others

Well come on now haggis is not English, don't insult the Chief of Puddings like that

I realy, really cannot emphasize enough what a huge scumbag Ken "Whit" Whitman is, and if you see him attached to ANYthing you like, slithering in to any organization or group or discussion, you should turn a beam of cleansing light upon him immediately so he runs shrieking back to his cave

Small update: I learned a couple of weeks ago that my book will be out in paperback instead of hardcover, which hopefully makes it a bit more accessible for folks who are interested but daunted by the high prices of hardcovers (I get it). Preorder links below!

When the Beornings are hitting the Honey Cake again, because these edibles aren't shit, it is time to clear out. Brother, you DO NOT want to be there in 30 minutes.

It's okay sometimes to let go of the hard-case survival foods your ancestors developed.

I remember in the 2nd season of Alton Brown's Feasting on Asphalt show where they traveled up the Mississippi river, when they got to lutefisk country they really couldn't eat the stuff. And that dude will eat anything
