Overhead getting on the train:

👩🏻 "We're on the wrong train! The other one's for Caergybi"

👩🏼 "Yes. We're going to Aberystwyth"

👩🏻 "Isn't 'Caergybi' Welsh for 'Aberystwyth'?"

👩🏼 "...."

And just like that I was immediately Deutsche Bahned.

(what would be the Welsh equivalent? Transport for Waled? Transport for Fails? No bother, I have ample time to workshop this now...)

Wales are sending 5000 Coracles to the Strait of Hormuz to destroy the mines being laid in its waters. Mr G Pillock, a Coracle pilot of 40yrs was quick to defend the actions. In a statement He said, "its a challenge for me, it is a challenge for my Coracle, but most of all it is a challenge to Me"’.

Eurgh. I am not a fan of this thing where a man has done sexual assault and then we find women around him - who did no sexual assault at all - to punish for it.

1/ To celebrate #StDavidsDay, a short thread on some of the most spectacular council housing in Wales. Firstly, the Townhill Estate, Swansea, designed by Borough Architect Ernest Morgan and built between 1919-1924

The Gorton and Denton result is fantastic for several reasons, but easily the funniest one is that the Tories got so few votes that they LOST THEIR DEPOSIT.

For clarity, not saying he isn't or that we aren't capable of absolute wet wipes of our own, I just get a bit twitchy when people drop in "South Wales Valleys" as a way of making themselves more relatable or man-of-the-people.

As someone from the valleys, his lack of specificity is making me suspish.

Iconic! There's been a lot of grumbling about the power of some cards, but to think that this season alone has given us double express route, being sent to Coventry AND Fuck Off Bike Kid - they are truly spoiling us.

I did an optional urban planning module as part of my OU degree in linguistics (no, I'm not sure either).

Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed Sam's run. Reminded me of the time my other half took me to MK for my birthday so I could see the infrastructure & design for myself.

He's a patient man.

Good grief. Do people who don't go to uni not benefit from doctors, librarians, researchers, lawyers, architects, artists, writers, archivists, historians, designers, programmers, etc etc etc...? What is this weird unjoined up world she imagines?

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

In my head they're still here. I periodically pop to the station in Aber with a pack of Welsh cakes and a stick of Barry Island rock and hope for the best.
