Your Dog’s Evolution Isn’t Over (Here’s Why)
Your Dog’s Evolution Isn’t Over (Here’s Why) YouTube video by Dog Nerd

I wanted to try my hand at creating a video on an intriguing topic I ran into recently, “The Third Wave of Dog Domestication", and practice before I film some of the more exciting videos I have planned. Tell me what you think!

This might be my favorite one. I try to remind people all the time that sports are often more for us than them! Great mindset :)

I don’t care if my dogs jump up on me 🤷‍♂️

Love the motto! Dogs deserve better!!!!

Remember! “Bad” is NOT a useful adjective when applied to behavior. Behavior itself isn’t inherently good or bad - it’s simply a form of communication. It’s really our responsibility to guide our dogs by teaching them the behaviors we’d like to see!

Absolutely, pain is such an overlooked factor! And good call on the aversive potential of so-called reinforcers. A lot of this comes back again to body language awareness, too!

Love it, I always say "your dog is doing the best with the information that YOU’RE giving them!"

I agree with the sentiment, strict ideology is not ideal. I don’t agree that FF trainers are more rigid, though, but I appreciate your input!

I’m curious what strategies are used by balance trainers that you find to be useful than force free trainers don’t use!

What are the biggest changes you expect or would like to see in the fields of dog training/behavior and welfare over the next 10 years? A larger general knowledge of body language and a dog’s level of comfort and consent being accounted for are my big hope!

I have a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and I praise Khan Academy to this day for its help! Also think about coding platforms and challenges, like LeetCode

Dogs are amazing. We’ve coevolved with dogs longer than we’ve had beer! And beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy (true statement, but falsely attributed Ben Franklin quote). Isn’t that amazing!
