Looks delish though 😁

Do you deliver to Derbyshire?
We’re chuffed our podcast keeps being listened to.
There’s a bit of a (wonderful) pattern to our audience behaviour;
binge-listening (i.e. several episodes are consumed at a time). What a compliment!
Here’s a link in case you fancy binging too:

Mand posing in hotel room. The decor is muted/ cream and Mand wears a grey top.
Mand’s trying SO hard to blend in BUT I know she’s no wall flower! (she usually wears bright clothing).
Here she is before a wellbeing retreat getting ready to enjoy herself. You have to love the woman, if not her energy 😆❤️

It really is a post code lottery in the UK. Saying that, seems to be similar in Denmark (where I’m from, but haven’t lived or accessed services as an adult)
Only read your response after I posted mine. Yes, it really varies
I’m told between 1-2 weeks. I was also told that for some reason turnover for breast cancer scans is quicker than other types of scans 🤷
I think of social media as a ‘pyramid scheme’. Only a few really benefit (followers/ likes wise, the rest of us are the there as spectators 😂
Saying that, the people we engage with on here, makes the experience worth it. So I’m not really grumbling.
😂
Yes, a couple of attempts at cannulation and all was done. As per usual staff were nice. I appreciate that is not everybody’s experience.
Thanks for checking, Glyn 💙
Hey @getupswinging.bsky.social:
I see your bruise, and raise it with a picture of Mand’s two scan medals 😆
Joking aside, it also took a couple of attempts for me to be cannulated today ❤️

NHS equipment and a purposeful walk towards the reception area?
Must be time for my #CTscan!
‘Beam me up, Scotty’.

Thanks Zana
Thank you, Julie ❤️
A lot of my cancer mates have ultrasound for their vein-finding-shenanigans. I got myself a porta-cath for everything but CT scans.
Glad you help back against the know-it-all. More humbling for them to fail 😆
Going for a CT scan tomorrow. Respect to your bruise 🫡
Head hear (from a neurotypical ally) 💙

True ❤️
Thank you for seeing that. I did aim for a ‘real’ rather than ‘pretty’.
Thanks so much for the feedback ❤️
Ever wondered if you could go that ‘extra mile’? Get on and grab life by the knackers? My heroic alter ego says ‘of course’ but on the chemo-hump-days my body just goes bleurgh, “you must be kidding” it protests! Then my mind and my pack push me, entice me with cream cake magic, even crack the best joke ever, and I grab on to life and get going, just one cycle at a time.
Just about to get over the #chemo hump for this cycle and I’ve finished my #feltart.
No title as yet but I’ve written a #poem to go with it. It’s in the ALT text.
Small acts of art on tough days make life feel okay, don’t you agree?!

Message from Mand:
It’s 11 years today since I received my diagnosis of secondary breast cancer. I’m so grateful to still be here, with so much joy and abundance cocooned in love. My mission for this year is to share love and positivity everywhere I go ♥️

Moments of freedom from self doubt is bliss. Aiming for pockets is what we can do. Darn those internal voices, right?

I’m from Denmark living in the UK. I remember when I first encountered phrases like these used liberally across all ages and gender. Yes, I agree that they are a disarming and humane way to relate to each other.
😂
Whatever it takes, right? 💙
