And of course our understandings of psychology and psychiatry are imperfect. But that doesn't mean that the whole field is just opinions and that mental health care providers should be free to just do and say whatever they want to their patients.

Mental health is health, and mental health care is health care. The state is not just empowered, but OBLIGATED to protect its citizens from charlatans, just as it would be with any physical health intervention
This is sort of a fundamental misunderstanding of modern evidence-based therapy, but the trolls choose this argument because it sounds reasonable to so many people
Something I am seeing in the discourse around today's ruling, both from trolls and from folks who are not-obviously-trolls, is a general vibe that because therapy is "talking" it is "speech" rather than "medicine".
I expected the court to rule this way. I did not expect it to be 8-1.
And I really didn't need them to ruin a day of solidarity and empowerment with this bullshit.
The Chiles v Salazar ruling coming out on Trans Day of Visibility is a real punch in the dick
It is particularly frustrating how random it is. Out of maybe a dozen videos with music, 3 have been claimed. 2 of those were Warner claiming C418 stuff, which is its own can of worms.
The latest is "Creator". I've used some of Lena Raine's other tracks without them being claimed. So why this one?
My channel's not monetized yet, but I want to keep all my videos in the clear, and I believe my usage is fine. It's super frustrating.
Anyone have experience filing youtube copyright disputes based on Microsoft's minecraft creator guidelines? There's a lot of misinformation and FUD out there about how youtube copyrights work, and it's hard to know if I got it done right :/
The relevant MS doc: help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/art...
GTNH video this week is going to be late. I've been trying to get the edit done all evening and still have... too much footage to go through. Tomorrow for sure!
It's up! Only an hour late
Tonight's #GregTech video has been stuck in "processing is taking longer than expected" all evening. I'll have it out as soon as Youtube lets me :/
dropping 0day in your timeline
"Tomorrow is Yesterday", as a phrase, really sums up the time loop of stupid we're all caught in
If you're using an AMD GPU on Arch, maybe skip 6.19.8? Was able to fix it by booting into the install USB stick and downgrading the package. Still not ideal.
awww yeah, I love it when a kernel update bricks my desktop ๐
This delightful evening is brought to you by my local library, by existing so I can read for free.
And by viewers like you who support my streams and other content

Springtime is here
Yes, I'm not contributing to OBS, and yes I know all the arguments about how open source works. I've made them in the past and will make them again.
OBS has corporate sponsors, and this is a basic part of the UI that I broke in 30 seconds. I'm not expecting them to support something weird, here.
This is a new issue in OBS 32. Yeah, I'm running my OBS in a small window...
But I don't think that "Running OBS in a window, on a portion of a secondary monitor that also has other stuff tiled on it" is that unusual of a use case?
A screenshot of the "audio mixer" and "controls" panels from OBS. The level meters are extending out of the audio mixer panel and covering other controls in the UI.
Really, OBS?
I feel like I haven't slept in a week.
Stupid daylight savings time
Reminder for my European viewers - the US did our time change this weekend. My streams will be an hour earlier for you until you update your clocks as well
The AT field is just a big stop sign, so that makes sense I guess
I know this is an old post, but that caution tape is impeccable. Evangelion's design language just pops
This is absolutely an invitation for folk to give their opinion on what I should stream
Deeply conflicted over making skyblock progress tomorrow or doing more Voyager
Turns out, one of the things that can cause the elusive SIGBUS is a bad SATA cable. So my night's going well.
GTNH video is out, so now I get to feed my cobblemon addiction
Turns out my local clone of this repo is new enough to have the thing I want to look at. Distributed version control FTW
