I must get a whitty comment about the perks of the job every single time a customer spots me doing a beer check in a pub... and I laugh and joke everytime..

Tasting, checking clarity, nose and temp is not the perk everyone thinks you know...

Don't think I've been out after 9pm on any day in the last 10 years and definitely not NYE this century.

We're always busier in afternoon to late tea. Folks don't do late nights anymore, hence closing at 10 on NYE.

Think that lot on the telly would have had an impact as well.

Usual for the Saturday before Christmas and after mad Friday by looks of the numbers. You must have missed the 2 til 6 when it was busy...

The boy has run his last race. Unfortunately, this time he lost the race as he couldn't beat the bastard cancer. Fly high, big lad.

Todays work pub is so busy today that I've had to do an emergency half hour on the bar which coincided with changing 3 Beers and the gas.

I like most to be honest but smell wise you can't beat an Islay.

Sat working in one of the pubs and the old boy on the next table is drinking a Laphroaig and the smell is very tempting at midday.
