This Friday at Project Arts Centre, a screening hosted by Libres Éire of THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED, the definitive documentary account of 2002's US-orchestrated coup d'etat against Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, with a discussion with Aaron Kelly, Maria Torres and the producer Rod Stoneman.

Instead only anger and sorrow, and a duty to remember every crime, every betrayal, and hope to look to those communist and socialist women a century ago for courage and patience in the struggle that will one day bring justice.

This war is nothing but an abomination and the attempt to justify it in this way is a perversion of feminist principles. I don't much feel like celebrating anything this International Women's Day.

Murdering and traumatising a generation will not create favourable conditions. Progress for women will not grow out of ash and rubble.

If the situation of women in Iran should improve - as indeed it should, everywhere - it will not happen with existential threats and intimidation. It cannot be achieved with air strikes.

War is the antithesis of feminism. War is the natural end state of the logic of domination and violence. War helps no woman, ever, anywhere, even if some women are fools enough to think it does.

And here in Europe our cruise-missile feminists - Kaja Kallas, Ursula von der Leyen, Roberta Metsola and so on - can only find words to condemn Iran. To rejoice at the prospect of regime change in Iran. To once again recite their hollow concerns about the situation of women in Iran.

...incinerating and dismembering the bodies of women, destroying the homes and communities women live in, purposefully creating a humanitarian crisis that disproportionately affects women, and they claim to be doing it the name of the liberation of women.

The US government, a grisly little band of degenerate cowards and thugs, exposed as serial rapists and mass child abusers, is trying to burn Iran to the ground...

Among the opening acts of their war was a targeted missile strike on a girl's school, taking the lives and mangling beyond recognition the bodies of 180 little girls, thus demonstrating the strength of their commitment to women's welfare in Iran.

Trump and Netanyahu also profess concern for women in Iran. They launched their criminal war of aggression against Iran on the last day of February, coincidentally the 117th anniversary of the very first Women's Day, which only later came to be observed on March 8.

For years they have feigned concern for the situation of women in Iran by beating the regime change drum, a prospect that always meant war. That war is now a reality.

Today the principles they fought for are debased beyond recognition. A cohort of opportunist female politicians in Europe happily tokenise their womanhood in leadership roles, pushing for militarism, rearmament and the normalisation of force while masquerading under the banner of female empowerment.

Today is International Women's Day. It was established by women in the international labour movement in the early 20th century who saw the struggles for women, for workers and for peace as one and the same, a source of hope for a better world, full of joy and life and potential.

Time and again, FFG show they can't be trusted. They don't work for us. This is why we need the Triple Lock. Without it, there is nothing to stop them involving our Defence Forces in the likes of this.

For Micheál Martin and Helen McEntee this is apparently the moment for what is according to them still a "neutral" country to "boost military cooperation" with the United States, France and Britain.

The US has just launched a war of aggression in violation of the UN Charter with the genocidal Zionist regime as an accomplice. Attacks on schools. 100s of kids dead. Regional war likely. France and Britain up to their necks in this act of international barbarity, itching to get directly involved.

Fair play to Cllr Perry and the other Cllrs who supported this motion, and to everyone who went out to City Hall yesterday to show support.

It has received no attention in our national press, but this brings to 13 the number of councils and local authorities across our island that have passed motions to defend the Triple Lock. The FFG government is determined, but there is no consent for they want to do.

Forward Ireland We are delighted to confirm that the motion in favour of Neutrality was passed by 39 votes for, 9 against (4 abstained) at Dublin City Council tonight. A great result and a great turnout tonight....

Excellent result. 39 Cllrs voted in favour of Cllr Cieran Perry's motion to save the Triple Lock. An overwhelming rebuke to the government's plans to scrap one of the central pillars of neutrality.

This is what a statement on "the events in the Middle East" should look like. International law is a core principle of the EU treaties, but the EU leadership is abandoning it. What the US and Israel have done is ILLEGAL. Say it!!!

We're just meat for them to offer up to the billionaire predator class in exchange for attaboys and post-politics career opportunities.

320,000 Irish households can't afford to pay their energy bills as it is. You'd be hard pressed to find a more flagrant example of the fact FFG don't see their role as working for the Irish people or looking out for our interests.

In only the last few hours, that spike has rocketed up to 45%. There are predictions in the financial press that gas prices may rise by as much as 130%.

European gas prices were up by 25% this morning after 48 hours of the US and Israel's demonic, idiotic war on Iran - a war Micheâl Martin and Helen McEntee can't bring themselves to condemn.

They will never be forgiven for their role in this, and it is unlikely the EU will ever recover from the damage they are doing to it.

Moreover, it is multiplying the harm already done to international law by the EU's shameful role in the Gaza genocide, accelerating our slide into a much more violent and unsafe world, and undermining the security of every country and billions of people.

The degree of EU collusion in breaches of international law is itself a breach of international law. These "leaders" are aiding an act of aggression, and they are accountable for that.
