What a vile, hateful court.

It's silly and wrong to act like Trump was gonna be committed to pacifist foreign policy before the Israelis blackmailed him. And, yes, it is in fact anti-Semitic. For one thing, there's evidently a section of the American military establishment who have been gagging for war with Iran for decades.

So I won't weigh in on the legal ethics of it, but I can say this: New York has the strongest press shield law in the Nation, and there is zero chance that disciplinary authorities, even if they were so inclined, would be able to discover Liptak's and Cantor's sources.

None.

we're at the point where progressive candidates are borderline hoping for AIPAC to back their opponents because it's that much of an albatross

A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies β€” including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought β€” are not able to apply for direct relief.

The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."

The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.

genuinely stupid, middle management is a hard hard job, and the glue of companies. Any exec (or IC) who thinks this is a bullshit job is, charitably, not paying attention to how companies actually operate

Absolutely incredible.

NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.

Watch with sound on.

The thing about the photo of the IDF soldier beheading a statue of Jesus in south Lebanon is that the Israeli military has an effectively near 0% conviction rate for its soldiers and so this will just keep happening over and over and over and over. This is simply what unlimited impunity breeds.

like i said earlier, i think we really underestimate politically distorting effects of

1. ron paul libertarianism being dead
2. it being uncool to publicly identify as a republican

Far from the biggest problem we face, of course, but there's a not-insignificant number of liberals who appear to believe that Palestinian activism was invented in 2023 specifically to ruin Joe Biden's presidency, and I find that..........frustrating.

a bunch of ppl & institutions knew dual class stock was bad from the get-go and yet everybody crumbled in the face of the most ridiculous argument in the world that these founders were just so smart and special we should cede control of our economy (and retirement funds) to them

one of the most insane aspects of all of this is that "a wide ranging government crackddown after a handful of newspaper cranks said insane things based on misunderstood cherrypicked papers" is considered illegitimate in every field of endeavor except this one

Since 2016 people have been demanding that Democrats manifest a pan-ideological United Front coalition against Trumpism while refusing to grapple with the fact that vanishingly few conservatives have shown the slightest interest in such a project.

Marwan Barghouti is the most popular Palestinian alive and has expressed support for a partition along the pre June 1967 borders into a separate state.

Barghouti has been in Israeli jail for two decades and is routinely tortured and even threatened with murder by Israeli politicians and guards.

It’s all well and good for tech leaders to endorse UBI. But it feels convenient to only focus on a distant political prospect. The GOP, right now, is doing reverse-UBI (work requirements on SNAP). It’d be nice to hear more objections to that.

i think folks might be unfamiliar with "the pharisees", so let's make it clear: he's saying the jews run the press, and that they are conspiring to undermine the military. it's not just antisemitism, it's indistinguishable from nazism.
