Wait, we're late? Kenma glanced over from Atsumu to see someone a bit taller than Koutarou following him inside, Tooru was already waving at him with a smirk. That iconic, stylishly messy hair, his sunkissed skin, that ridiculously handsome face that haunted Kenma's existence. The last time Kenma saw Kuroo in person was when they were seventeen and that ended in Kenma screaming at Kuroo to get out of his parent's house and never come back. Fuck. Those sharp hazel eyes met his and the recognition was instant, this was Kenma's worst fear come to life, all the inky black dread pooled in his stomach. He didn't want this role actually, it could go to anyone else in Japan, all Kenma wanted to do was fucking run and hide in his bed. "Kuroo! You're just on time, Atsumu just finished up so how about you take a few minutes to prepare and jump on in?" Miwa smiled as she clapped her hands together and Kuroo just dumbly nodded. There was no way in hell this was happening. Kenma would take Atsumu and all his rookie experience, or Tooru or Wakatoshi or fucking Daishou over Kuroo. "Did you know?" Kenma grabbed Keiji by his sleeve and glared up at his best friend, "Did you know he'd be here?"
