Feedback is essential for learning, but not all feedback is good feedback!
The clean feedback model is a really powerful way of helping coaches deliver effective feedback that aids performance improvement.

Off to watch the young Tigers at England u18 camp today.
#TigerCubs
We can do it 🏴
To be clear, I do think Wales will win, I will be watching & point 3 is TBC!
Well this is it!
My strategy for coping with the South Africa game:
1. Convince myself that Wales are going to win & tell everyone about it.
2. Don't watch the game.
3. Deny all knowledge of the game.

I love this super simple breakdown practice. Really helps players focus on the most important points for winning the race at the ruck!
Why not give it a go?

Not rugby related….
I have a Hyrox ticket for London ExCel on 30th November, Men’s Open Divison, but as I am injured I cannot race.
DM if you’d like to purchase it!
Trying to explain to my son that being a welsh rugby fan is not for the feint hearted.
He’s only experiencing what it was like in the 90’s!
Borthwicks pre match makes interesting listening. This ‘young England side’ vs the ‘experienced springbok side’.
The art of painting narratives!

Well, it’s been 48 hours & I really rather like this new joint.
Reminds me of the good old days 😊
Sounds good, Anthony. Simple, concise points in game can be just enough to help focus attention
A good time for reflection then!
Fancy a look at my Level 4 Psychology assignment? I've made it free to access on GDD Coaching.
I dive into the world of player profiling and provide a full breakdown of the process I went through with my players!

Sounds like a logical approach, Joel!
Maybe ask the players what they find most beneficial this week? I'll do the same!
I love taking water on the pitch as it allows me to hear the conversations! It often means that I don't need to say anything!
I often change between the two in the same week! I think it depends on the message and the emotional state of the players (and coaches?!)
A lot to be said for giving players space to find solutions. A key skill for the coach there is spotting the problem early, being deliberate in noticing whether the players have solved it, then helping them if and when they need it!
The level of detail and how it's communicated is key isn't it. All the things that coaches aren't taught!
Agree with you both that players can't/don't want to take on any detailed information during play. That's the case at all levels.
'Cues' that are understood by all can be really powerful however!

Why is 3 bad?!
Why do you think 3 is bad, Sam?
I’m genuinely interested in what coaches see work for their teams rather than any of them being good or bad!
A question for the coaches out there: what's your approach during matches, do you:
1) Sit back and watch, it's too late to coach.
2) Provide feedback during breaks
3) Coach all the way through
4) Something else?
No need for a Rassie sound system, just bring in the choir!
