Happy Thursday! While Jay is stateside, I'm handling the daily updates. After a long cold winter, the residents had some cabin fever. With the transit van in repair, we squeezed everyone into my little car and headed to the children's amusement center.
Harrison, Soeren, Filip, Luke & Thierry finished the fencing for the chicken pen and dog run! Afterwards they enjoyed a warm home-cooked meal and a facility tour Thank you for helping our four-legged and winged family enjoy the beautiful weather!
Tomorrow we hide the eggs around the castle… and the egg fights begin! Two kids smash eggs together, winner stays, loser gets eaten. A perfect end for a colorful egg!
Jaime from Scotland kindly started an Easter fundraiser for us, collecting crafts and candies that finally arrived today! Alona & Luba baked paska all night, while our residents decorated eggs and prepared baskets.
Our amazing residents sorted everything, kept what we needed, dressed up some very confused cats in sweaters , and coordinated the rest to frontline areas via Nova Posta. So proud to be part of this caring community!

Today, we extend a heartfelt thank you to the “Support and Protection Centre” NGO for their humanitarian aid .Beyond providing essential items like tinned food and hygiene products, their support brings care, warmth, and a sense of solidarity to those who have lost their homes and face hardship.

Wendy, Lena & Tanya went to Kyiv to send love and thanks to the wonderful Lyudmila Agnieszka stayed to paint our newest Phoenix artwork Harrison, Luke & Jess upgraded the barn, rebuilt the fence and started on gates and chicken area!
We are heartbroken by the loss of Lyudmila after a stroke and days in intensive care — she fought bravely, but her heart stopped. We will forever mourn the life she deserved and the dreams that will now remain unfulfilled.
Our electrician completed wiring for the new accessibility restroom (Solidarity Engineering & Xylem).The goat pen is finished and ready for the goats! Agnieszka arrives tomorrow from Poland to paint Bolek & Lolek murals,popular Polish cartoons by a local creator.Kamil got permission to recreate them
We successfully collected aid in Medyka thanks to Greg, Wendy, and Mike: 2 pallets of bedding (Royfort), 1 pallet of clothing (Netherlands),and 2 pallets of toys/gifts (Liege Ukraine Solidarte). The aid will go to local IDP shelters.
Sasha and Xylem donated 50 water filtration kits which will be sent to frontline areas.
The renovations on the accessibility toilet continue :) a massive thank you to Solidarity Engineering and Xylem for making this dream possible!
Jay and Lina met Sasha and Mikey in Poland over the weekend. Sasha has been supporting the Phoenix and Ukraine since day 1.
Our Sprinter has been out of commission but thanks to Jakub it will be back on the road tomorrow! Expect to see some updates as Greg takes it to pickup and deliver much needed aid throughout Ukraine!

Mykola Bilyak from Lviv Regional Administration visited us to discuss our project. We also received a sprinter from Convoy4Ukraine that will start delivering aid across Ukraine next week. Thank you all for your support!
Happy Friday! We’ve been busy cleaning and repainting the territory, with the kids adding their special touches. Wendy is back in action, we welcomed new volunteer Greg from the USA, and renovations on our accessible toilets are moving fast thanks to Solidarity Engineering & Xylem!
This spring we are finally starting to see the beauty of the spring flowers near the palace. Last year we were clearing away the dry grass all year. This year we have fields of violets that were tortured under piles of perennial leaves and dry grass last spring.

Cleaning continues at the sanctuary! Chris joined us last night and we’re putting his height to good use We’ve started prepping the barn area for the dogs, chickens, and goats, with fence repairs coming this Saturday. (1/2)
Monday,we hit the ground running with spring cleaning, logistics & cutting the grass 🤣
Olena, who runs an animal sanctuary, came to look at our expectant pregnant mothers (goats & dogs).
On Saturday, Harrison & Liubov will be back to repair the gate by the barn so the dogs will have space to play.
