also, listen to bad music. don't just take someone else's opinion on an album, listen to it yourself and draw your own conclusions. understand what you dont like about it and use that to guide your own creativity. knowing what you dislike in music is as important as knowing what you like.

in short: make things, mess around, listen a lot, and develop your musical ear. music making is not just one thing and there are multiple ways to go about it. listening to youtubers trying to get clicks will not help you become a creative, and platitude ridden vids often don't have useful insight.
