This game looks great
Just wanted to share because it's helped me in the past:
The power of forced perspective! Want simple 3D text in your game but don't want to have to dynamically make meshes? Simply put labels together to create the illusion of depth.

Of course this doesn't work *as* well as a fully 3D mesh would, some angles break it. But for most simple purposes, as long as you know what angles the player will be seeing this from, it will work without any complex setups or super heavy hits to performance, used in moderation.

30 years of RESIDENT EVIL :)
Unique problems require unique solutions.
I needed a way to raise these tapes a bit but didn't want to make a model exclusively for it. So I did some hackery. And it worked! (Just don't look under the table)

Hitting 50 reviews with 100% positive is HUGE!
Thank you all for supporting indie games ❤️
I don't have the rest of the files on this PC but I do have the final cover. The center is empty so it could be changed out depending on the guest and the gimmick would be something small and playable releasing alongside each part of the podcast.
This was a graphic design challenge from a couple of years ago I don't think I ever posted!
Not for a real podcast mind you, but I saw podcasts popping up a lot so I wanted to try and design a theme / brand guide for a fictional one!

Oh wow really? I forgot about that part of it, haven't changed my banner in a while, yeah that really sounds like it sucks to use then.
They tried reinventing the wheel and made it square.
I've accessed YouTube on a handful of different TVs before and half of them have completely different UI between each other.
YouTube's banner system is just so inconsistent and difficult for no reason. Instead of designing the channel UI uniformly around different screen sizes they have a different banner requirement depending on what device you're using.
Oml yeah definitely focus on that I hope you find him!! I know how scary that feels 😭
I'm sure he's fine and hopefully will come back on his own soon.

Despite Fishtronomy not being discounted on it's own during the ongoing Spring Sale (Because lil' ol' me forgot to set the discount) the bundle it's apart of, Not Thinking Straight, is! If you think you'd like this trio of puzzle games definitely check it out!

So this is that DLSS 5 everyone is talking about.
It really is only like 1 minute of gameplay, I tried condensing a bullet hell into as simple of a loop as possible. I think it worked out hah.
Today marks the ONE YEAR anniversary of one of my favorite and simplest jam games from last year, Pocket TouHou 💙
Only like two minutes of gameplay, but I loved trying my hand at the LCD game style. It's free on Newgrounds!

I tried Navigation Obstacle, wasn't working for these. Could just be that I wasn't using it correctly though.
Godot doesn't really have a good way to make an NPC avoid an area without rebuilding the nav mesh which is expensive. My solution?
Behold: A rotating invisible cube that only the enemy collides with which pushes him out of the way when he walks up to it, giving the illusion he's walking around it.
Depends. Subviewports are good but if there’s a lot of them they can falter. (Both being less performant and not rendering smoothly / being jittery.)
What exactly are you wanting to use the subviewport for? (Generally if you’re just using one it isn’t an issue performance wise. I’m mostly curious)
Some good points there honestly.
Game Jams are something I used to join quite a bit but I don't do as many now by virtue of working on fuller games instead of jam ones.
Though I do need to look for more discords!
I absolutely love your website it so well styled oml
Are there any good indie-dev centric communities out there? I used to be a lot more active in the space and talking to a lot of people but over the past few years I've sort of tapered off a bit because of IRL personal stuff.
Still would be nice to reconnect and find new places / people!
With a resume like that we just have to trust them on their vision for the future. I mean they’ve never backed a horse that didn’t win.
I hate working on stuff and not being able to share it because it's massive spoilers
The creatives curse 😭
A picture composed of multiple editor screenshots stitched together all related to various functions and variables about dogs. From top to bottom: var dog_acquired : bool = false ## Player can't have two dogs var dog_name_assigned : bool = false Item General Information item name: Dog item icon: (A dopey looking concept art picture of a dog plush) item description: The bestest friend. Alerts you to, (text gets cut off here to avoid spoilers)
Really loving scripting the 'dog acquired' logic.

Honestly looks like a really cool title card
For a second I thought this was a screenshot of your project and was wondering how you got it looking so realistic in Godot
(I'm not very smart)
But also yeah. I think a lot of the cams up on the space station are also not exactly fully up to date which doesn't help the low-rez nature.
