All flowering cannabis plants are female, but depending on the strain plants can develop pollen sacks when stressed (male trait, turning female to hermaphrodite). When breeding this may be ideal, but for growing a nice smoke its not. Here are images of different herm varieties, located under nodes.

Fun Fact: If you own a healthy fish tank that is well established, the water (especially from water changes) is highly beneficial for plants!! It is rich in nitrogen allowing a great boost for the flowering phase. (note if the water is high in ammonia or toxic algae fix that first lol)
