It was their choice. On a post game podcast, it was mentioned that the Charge learned that Phillips would be getting the MVP award, so they chose to stay on the ice to support their netminder. Now--the cameras in their faces? That's another story. I hated that.
In the PWHL finals, they played the equivalent of over 16 periods (321m 8s). Minnesota scored 7 goals; Ottawa 5. That's a total of 12 goals in over 16 periods of play. If the league wants to increase scoring, don't bother with more innovative rules. Just get the refs to ENFORCE THE RULEBOOK!!
A tip of the cap to Gwyneth Phillips who did everything but score. Incredible performance by the Ottawa Charge goaltender even in defeat in the PWHL Finals.
as a frost fan, zoë hits the nail on the head. I am proud as hell of the work the Frost ladies did on the ice. Off ice behavior and actions MUST be addressed if we are going to move in a positive direction.

It's bench management. Ottawa & MN are using all 4 lines. Coach Chevrie is playing her 1st & 2nd lines way more than the 3rd and 4th. The same thing that killed them last year.

Hey so I am a woman, who played hockey and now coaches women's hockey so I'm not sure what this hissy fit is all about. I have season tickets to the PWHL...please go back and read my initial reply. I think the issue here is reading comprehension.

I can deal with calls being wrong but when the review centre constantly gets calls wrong, it’s time for a change. The PWHL needs to be much better at those calls. It’s embarrassing at this point.
This is at least the third or fourth one I can remember this season.
It seems like the bottom 3 lines are struggling to find chemistry and synergy. That top line is SO fluid.

Interesting, why is that? Are they trying to keep it accessible with low ticket prices? (I don't live near an NWSL team so I am not all that familiar with their markets.)
Like yes I do but I'm also curious how egregious the pay discrepancy is between the owners of the club and how much they're giving to the players & staff compared to the men's league. 🧐 (for the record I think it's ridiculous to ask them to lower prices, I just also think the NWSL can do better)

Seeing Sentnor carry over the “yeah, imma score this game” mentality AND ability to the senior international level is both fun to view and also very needed for the USWNT.
Especially for winger depth.
The PWHL broadcast picked up a Charge fan standing up and yelling 'Fuck you!" at someone about a minute after the OT winner for reasons unknown.
I have watched at least five minutes of the last 8 NY Sirens games and they have lost all 8.
