A house tucked into the woods. There are lots of trees around the house with a red car parked by the house.
"Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest."
-Henry Van Dyke
Pretty much called house on the NHS bingo card this week. Got my casualty club card application in the post. Care home lined up, and if I’m not careful I’ll be in it myself! I’d say it’s been a challenging week but to be fair it’s been like this for a month
I mean who doesn’t love a Waltz by Johann Strauss II?
The one being that we are all in is everything.
There is no separation.

Duomo of Florence (Santa Maria del Fiore)
The Duomo of Florence (Santa Maria del Fiore) is a Gothic masterpiece that also stands as an iconic symbol of the early Renaissance
A pencil illustration of Hades and Persephone. The two are embracing, with Hades appearing sad and Persephone reassuring. Crocuses bloom in the foreground, and Persephone's hair is also full of blossoming crocuses; both a sign of the approaching spring, which perhaps is why Hades is sad. It's time for Persephone to return to the upper world!
I got this drawing of Hades and Persephone finished up today as well. I'll adjust the color and contrast in photoshop and get it printed on watercolor paper to start painting! 😊 (I also see a few proportional issues to fix before proceeding 🤨)

Mountain peaks are reflected on the surface of a calm aqua colored lake in the Canadian Rockies. The sky is bright blue with a few white wispy clouds.

Leeches, you see. Not just medicinal
The leech barometer in Whitby Museum: a huge cylindrical glass case with a bizarre steampunk contraption inside, featuring ornate metalwork, a lot of glass bottles, some chains, and a central totem-like structure
Title page: AN ESSAY EXPLANATORY OF THE TEMPEST PROGNOSTICATOR IN THE BUILDING OF THE GREAT EXHIBITION FOR THE WORKS OF INDUSTRY OF ALL NATIONS. READ BEFORE THE WHITBY PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY FEBRUARY 27TH, 1851. BY GEORGE MERRY WEATHER, M.D. WHITBY, The Designer and Enventor.
27 February? That can only mean one thing. YES, THAT’S RIGHT! It’s 175 years to the day since George Merryweather gave a three-hour lecture to the Whitby Literary and Philosophical Society about his leech barometer 🧵
