do you refuse to believe fascist military dictator Leopoldo galtieri could be on the right side of anything

19 hours ago 13 0 3 0

This is the guy who crashed out for days bc people didn’t think Argentina had a right to invade the Falklands

19 hours ago 46 0 3 0

Right, I think it’s pretty clear that talarico has far better odds of winning than ossoff does of losing and any Republican victory in Texas will have a smaller margin than ossoff’s in Georgia

I feel like the point is for it to be too much bc it’s an ironic tone

Then believe, it costs nothing and has no bearing on the outcome

(Now, you could point out that the decentralized media environment makes it a lot harder to manage public opinion as FDR did, and I’d agree with that take)

Public support for the war was so high because the U.S. was clearly attacked first- before that, public support for intervention was way lower and had the U.S. intervened in those circumstances you might have gotten a more covid style response

I’m not sure about that. The public support for wwii wasn’t due to greater Republican virtue but because FDR did a good job of carefully managing public opinion and geopolitics such that the war was seen as indisputably necessary

Bluesky when any politicia adopts a strategy other than scolding people for not having Republican virtue like they’re Cicero

Well, in their defense the world the greatest generation built was partly dismantled already. I think people in every society at every time have been vulnerable to falling to charlatans and no population has every really shown the kind of Republican virtue people on here like to wax poetic about

I share your general misanthropy, but while I don’t think their decisions are sympathetic I think they’re pretty consistent and easy to understand, and it’s pretty reasonable to predict based on their logic that they will be much madder about Iran and tariffs than they were about Covid

He handled the crisis badly but the fact that it existed was not his fault, whereas the Iran war and the tariffs are entirely his fault. The two situations aren’t really that similar

2020 was way less trumps fault than this and his approvals now are far worse than in 2020

Certainly if your model includes cooper and ossoff losing it should include seats behind the 4 reaches going dem

It’s crazy that neither of her opponents have hit her on making a video for aipac praising the Iran war tbh

Also I admit it’s annoying to see two people who I think are both great public servants get slandered by supporters of the other

I’m for mcmorrow still because I want an easy victory in Michigan so we can focus on the reaches and I think she’ll have an easier time holding it in the future, but wouldn’t be upset with abdul and all- mostly I’m just glad that its between these two and Stevens is clearly flopping

1 day ago 1 0 1 0

At this point the rumor is that Stevens drops out in which case it’s crucial that she publicly reject any support from Schumer

Personally I think it’s very unlikely that they’d cast meaningfully different votes on Israel but atp it’s her responsibility to demonstrate that to voters

1 day ago 2 0 0 0

Mcmorrow clearly needs to pivot against Israel soon if she wants to blunt his momentum
