Someone gave us their demo CD from Eastern Europe. It’s decent for nu-metal, but the track titles are better than the actual tracks.
If you think legislation that targets “low enrollment degrees” only impacts the humanities please look at this list. Degrees in chemistry, math, physics, political science, data analytics, psychology and economics are being eliminated. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2026/04/16/o...
The Supreme Court long relied on careful, time-tested procedures to issue decisions. But secret memos by the justices, obtained by The New York Times, show how the court decided to bypass those procedures and create its modern “shadow docket.” See key takeaways: www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/u...

🧪Typically, the NIH approves roughly $5.3 billion in cancer research funding every fiscal year. The amount that’s been distributed so far this year has alarmed researchers.
At just under six months into the current fiscal year, only $541 million in cancer research grants have been delivered.

Meme Panel 1: "biologists will be like this is a very simplified diagram of a mammalian cell", followed by a complicated pic showing all the various aspects of a cell, numbered and with detailed labels Panel 2: "chemists will be like this is a molecule", followed by the structure of n-butane, ie: four points connected by three lines, ie: basically a zig-zag with 120-degree angles
Dunno source, but LOL #chemchat
Oh. Stage an assassination attempt, you say? Interesting.

Update 3/16: A very small handful of NIH apportionments have come through — with big exceptions.
The ones that OMB has approved are all Congressionally mandated/earmarked. The broad discretionary funds that fund most NIH grants not yet been authorized.

Can a MOF be a melted amorphous non-porous glass?
Bacteria build conductive MOFs to communicate… kinda wild.

Federal agents are not to be trusted under basically any circumstance - so we got that going for us.
VSU fired tenured professors with no justification, no accusation of wrong doing, and no due process. VSU attempted to coerce them into signing a retirement package, then escorted them to their car without being able to get their stuff and told them they’d be arrested if they come back.
Due process violations don't get worse than this. Appalling stuff from Virginia State, every administrator involved should lose their job

“Now you can bring the dead internet theory into the classroom!”
I’m lucky to still have my grandparents. It’s always a treat to get birthday cards from them, and the incredibly morbid notes they write are always good for a birthday chuckle.
