NESTA at NSTA (I’m in Anaheim for 4 days on the DOs CC and get to hang out and present with some really fabulous and really smart science educators and I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity
Today I was asked to lead one of my schools biggest PDs next fall. I’m flattered and going to do it but I also know it will change the way coworkers think of me and there is no going back after I do it.
I’m hosting my first NESTA webinar tomorrow. Kinda excited. Kinda nervous.
What an exciting day!!! ATLAS- NGSS performance tasks- has been released!!! www.ngss-atlas.com
We got a Christmas rainbow!
This year I flipped my Kepler unit and taught it Kepler law 321 instead of Kepler law 123. My average quiz grade went up a point and my habitable zone performance task was so much better this year (less students confused). Going into winter break with this huge win!
Loving my Lego mineral collection I put together on Thanksgiving
The best part about writing a CV is that you only have to do it once
My man is elk hunting in Colorado and I just have to share his sunrise picture.
I love my geology community.
FOP- Friends of the Pleistocene- is easily my favorite weekend of the fall.
I’m so excited for next weekend too! But TBH, I think Jerry is more excited then I am :)
I’m going to Palm Springs this weekend with my best work friend to attend and present at the CA Science Teachers Conference….. and I cannot wait b/c it’s exactly what I need right now.
Peak Finder app for the win
Coolest rock of this year’s backpacking trip.

I just survived a week of taking 11 students backpacking in the Yosemite wilderness. They covered 18 miles total, 12 of them carrying 35ish lbs. I’m gonna go have a beer now.
Thanks. I’m going as the solo chaperone this year and a new trail head so the unknown makes my head spin. This ground kids is amazing though and I trust.
Pre show jitters are nothing compared to pre Yosemite jitters.
Not me about spend a week (and my 40th bday) in the backcountry of Yosemite. 😂😂😂 I swear it’s for the kids.
Started a group chat with the 11 students I’m taking to Yosemite. Thinking I might put it on mute and let them run with it
Wildlink excitement has officially set in.
