I just backed Peacekeepers TTRPG - Crime Fighting Capers in a Fantasy City on @Kickstarter.
I played this at AireCon 2026 and it was GREAT! Back it!

ICE has killed Mohommad Nazeer Paktyawal, for those who don't open the link. He was a father of six with no known health issues prior to being kidnapped by ICE. According to NBC, Mohommad is AT LEAST the 12th person to die in ICE custody this year. They are murderers
#ttrpg Even if you aren't a fan of Gumshoe as a system this bundle can be a huge resource for anything Cthulhu/Horror related:

A few reflections on #Airecon Harrogate 2026.

Thank you to all the GMs who put in both the quiet preparation and energetic play for your games. And thank you to all the players who came to play and, in some cases, try #ttrpg for the first time!
Until next year!
One of my players was a game designer who gave me his card.
Alun Rees - design of “The Cluster” a PbtA SciFi game. I’m on the desk this afternoon but I’ve signed up to play in his game tomorrow afternoon.

A shout out to @openhearthrpg.bsky.social from #Airecon where three 'Hearthers' had a great time ...
7/7 Sat eve: Ran my yet to be published gritty Dark Age Mystery PbtA 'Eotenweard'. There was a foul monolith, a gloomy ravine, & the home of a naive captive, an aging loon, and a secretive storyteller (who God wanted dead). Then, shadows take form, entrails attack, a Priest chooses & a sacrifice!
6/7 Fri eve: Ran the free gallusgames.itch.io/alien-dark One of the PCs took the easy way out when infected (& shifted to the squad smartgunner), while another became dangerously obsessed with 'knowing more' ... Both survivors were welcomed back to safety by a Company Rep keen to 'help them' ...
5/7 Fri & Sat pm Ran gallusgames.itch.io/the-cluster ... used a pregen Cluster given each session was a one-shot and played to find out. Both groups threw themselves into the fiction and used most of the mechanics, though one lot's 'direct' approach to ship combat would cost them dear in a campaign😉
4/7 Played Sun am: 'Rivers of London' in Edinburgh with Bruce Laing. Renewed my belief that you can still run a narrative game with a d100 system ... a limit to the skill list, flexible clue revelation by the GM, and the Luck mechanic made all the difference as we tracked down an undead cunning man
3/7 Played Sat am: 'Peacekeepers' (not the old Supers game) run by it's designer Adam Taylor. We 'kept the peace' using a mostly trained rat, a gnome in a dog cart, and a kobold community support officer in a fantasy city familiar to anyone who knows Ank* M*rp*rk: www.kickstarter.com/projects/sto...
2/7 Played Fri am: 'The Code of Steam & Steel' run by its designer @squadronuk.bsky.social. The game has a great steampunk feel and the system doesn't get in the way of the fiction. The mechanics can be swingy but that just adds to the fun as we faced increasingly greater challenges & a shrink ray!
1/7 #ttrpg @aireconuk.bsky.social has ended so time to reflect on games played and games run ... it was a great weekend but before the games a big 'thank you' to @firstage.bsky.social for seamless organisation (as always) at the new location - the Majestic Hotel: an improved RPG venue & very posh!
And a great contribution you made to seeking (and collecting) an ancient artefact from the mysterious planet Eden.
This was a great session ... I was one of the three bearding the villain.
Approaching the end of a great weekend of play at AireCon in Harrogate.
Really enjoyed running games and playing.
More to follow.
I'll launch the Kickstarter for Play Unsafe, my book about how to play TTRPGs, this week.
Go and follow it now! And please repost this and spread the word when the time comes, it really helps.

I'm pleased to announce that 'The Cluster', my Sci-Fi PbtA game in which a rag-tag Crew seek adventure (and profit) across a Cluster of seven star systems, each many light years from the others, but linked by Ring Gates, is now for sale.

In my experience fretting goes with the territory ... it shouldn't ... but it does.
I hope you and @kierongillen.bsky.social had a great time.
My first supplement for Blades in the Dark is out now!
Blades in the Dark: Deep Cuts is a 118-page expansion for the game, a treasure trove of lore, setting material, and modified mechanics I've developed over the years (details follow)

A triptych of images depicting scenes from Blades in the Dark, including an industrial-age airship, a dark ritual in the void sea, and a rooftop chase.
It's spooky season, and what's spookier than the haunted streets of Doskvol? Probably a good time for me to release my expansion supplement for Blades in the Dark, right?
Announcement coming soon. Keep your eyes peeled and your blades sharp. ;)
Dangerous to rush to judgement but the most recent iteration of Eotenweard, my PbtA game of Dark Age Heroes protecting the innocent across the Old North, delivered the smoother mechanical experience that I'd hoped while the narrative richness hasn't suffered (IMHO, obvs!)

The #SharedHearth one-shot ... youtu.be/l0H5DaNB0RQ?... ... was soooo much fun ... we turned it into a two-shot ...

On a wooden tabletop, with a hideous orange curtain as a backdrop, the beloved claymation TV character Morph approaches a knobbly green plasticine alien egg, one hand raised to his mouth in an expression of curiosity as the petals on the top of the egg peel open to provide a glimpse of its pulsating white interior
Morph rears back in terror as a white plasticine facehugger leaps out of the egg, its fingers reaching for his face
Morph lying unconscious on his back on the tabletop, the facehugger wrapped around his head, its tail tightly coiled around his neck
Released from the facehugger, which now lies motionless in the background, Morph’s back arches in agony as a toothy snakelike abomination bursts out of his chest in a fountain of bright red plasticine gore
#AlienRomulus gives me the excuse I never need to resurrect my proudest, grisliest creation (the most horrifying part of which is that orange curtain, which at least lends it an authentic 70s vibe).
Looking forward to #AlienRomulus this weekend as a warm up for running a one-shot of Alien Dark (2Ed) (gallusgames.itch.io) at the upcoming #SharedHearth

A third of UK Twitter users are preparing to quit the platform.
“Savanta found that Musk was personally unpopular with the UK public, with a net favourability score of -16, lower than Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg (-5 ) and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos (+1 ).”
Musk is also less popular than Tory politicians
Dilbert Stark has a net favourability score in the UK that is so low maybe he should run for leader of the losing party?
