Just knocked out episode 1 while running and was engrossing enough to make me almost forget that I was running that long
Kann mich leider auf nichts konzentrieren außer diesen Namen
We're staring down a brutally hot summer and energy and food shocks and cost of living crisis that climate change intensifies. There's endless money for war. But voters want policies that address the real threats to their security. At @cplusc.bsky.social, our new agenda has the solutions🧵
A tremendous episode: far-reaching, deeply-informed, nuanced and relentlessly insightful and interesting
Such an extraordinary resource and the political education on Arab radicalism, the long reach of western imperialism and the centrality of Palestine that we all need in this conjuncture. The podcast was already monumental - thank you @thedigradio.bsky.social, Abdel Razzaq Takriti & all involved!
I listened to all 40+ hours...
it's really, really good
I really can’t overstate how critical the Thawra podcast series was to my understanding of Arab revolutions. It’s already shaped my scholarship and I’ve bookmarked this site for my next projects. Looking forward to transcripts forthcoming and sharing with students
Would love one!
Will do! Im reading your book right now and will def be shouting it out
Thawra’s expansive history of the Arab East now includes all materials you need to build an entire course or study group. The West’s violent domination of the region rests upon mystifications that obscure this rich, diverse history of anti-imperialist struggle. Learn it, teach it.
Can’t recommend enough @thedigradio.bsky.social series on Indonesia from Dutch colonialism to present. Amazing how little most Americans know about the 4th largest population center in the world, whose history has been central to changes in the world system over hundreds of years. Links ⬇️
Was great to chat with @meadwaj.bsky.social @macrodosepod.bsky.social about the energy transition, resource extraction, capitalism, global north-south inequality & Left strategy amid the polycrisis that accelerates daily. In collab with @alameda.institute. Listen podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t...
Episode 2!
As someone playing catch up on the history of colonialism and uneven development in Indonesia, this Dig episode is a godsend 👏🙏

What an incredible opportunity to have access to this type of learning! And directly through one our political movement’s top creative podcasts. It seems to me Dan and his team worked their asses off to be ready for this series
I know that multiple of my best political friends are also listening!

Don't agree with everything here but if you want a real, thoughtful answer on why the US doesn't have a big anti-war movement this is a good place to start.
Episode 2 of Nusantara, our @thedigradio.bsky.social series on history of Indonesia. This ep traces first four decades of 20th century, the Awakening Period that made modern Indonesian politics, including its three main currents: communism, nationalism, and Islam. www.thedigradio.com/podcast/nusa...
These countries aren’t destined to become mining frontiers. They’re shaped by economic choices - and those choices can change.

Mamdani is not just filling the potholes with the crew. He's creating a visual and personal reminder of the dignity inherent in all of these anonymous government jobs.
It took me a few days to listen to this whole episode, but what an incredibly comprehensive discussion! Especially on sanctions, incentives for green transition, and how all this may push the decline of the dollar as the reserve currency
so so good. everyone says so for good reason
For @thenation.com I wrote about antisemitism smears against Hasan Piker, an attempt to protect both Israel and Dem establishment from legitimate criticism. The fake antisemitism outrage machine, however, no longer shuts up the left—it empowers the far right www.thenation.com/article/poli...
what a balm in these times. the scale of the losses and the scope of the challenges are daunting, but we need clear eyes to address them
This is by far the best discussion on the war on Iran I’ve heard or read. All participants are so informative, so eloquent, the scope of the conversation so wide-ranging. Absolutely essential listening.
This is really a great discussion on Iran and the way the US has handled enemy states even when not at “war” with them and how that shapes how those states respond. Too much to summarize but really informative!
This is called “strategic defeat.” You have ended up in a worse position than before you began, with your adversary, while battered, emerging in a stronger position than before.
