funny, I was just looking at the forecast in RI thinking, “shit, it’s still winter there, I’m gonna be so cold next week.” It’s been in the mid-80’s here for a bit so I’m already in summer mode.

luckily the band staying at my daughter’s apartment leaves the day I need to borrow her air mattress for the band staying at my house. we are the same person sometimes.

we should be going to see Violent Femmes tonight but instead we had to put our dog down and that was just really hard.

I considered saying some shit like “well, I went to Melbourne and you didn’t take a moment to meet me in person either.” but I didn’t.

I was on a call with my CEO today and he literally spent 5 minutes giving me shit about not having ever been to Yosemite when I live 3.5h from there and he’s been there 11 times and he lives in Melbourne, Australia.

this afternoon I think my dog had another seizure while I was in the kitchen having lunch.
then an hour later my resident feral cat was on the patio killing a bird while I was working. she ate the whole thing and I feed that cat well.

I think about Australia a lot. I think it’s the best place I’ve ever visited, it just felt super comfortable to be there.

I just requested 2 weeks off work and not only did my boss approve it, she told me to take MORE time off because it seems like I’ll be really busy during those 2 weeks and I’ll need some time to “really relax”. How is she even real???

I’ve been off work since xmas eve and I don’t go back til Jan 5 and I can say that I love not working and I can’t wait to retire. someday….. sigh.

at the ER vet last night with my dog and I kept thinking that their welcome board for their new specialty care patients could have been for a human daycare, with animals named things like Emma, Katie, Attila, even the occasional Peanut isn’t so far fetched for what people name their kids these days.

all of a sudden since this afternoon the top knuckle of my middle finger has been super painful and the only explanation I can think of is that I’ll be 56 in exactly a month.
