But I would assume the goal with VV for java is to make it as close as possible to bedrock, with a "good" performance, or as good as possible?

Look for Ourcraft GitHub, that will be our official repo, there's no stable build yet, u can build it urself but we are still refining the basics, we will let some people know when the first public survival builds are close so they can test em beforehand.
