Crude prices up by 25% since the start of the war… Trump had to reward his fossil fuel buddies and everybody in the world is now funding their windfall profits.

That’s a given.

US is energy self-sufficient but it still constrains US foreign policy because rising gas prices push up inflation and consumers feel pain. Oil shocks are now less a pure drag on national income than a distributional shift: consumers lose, while a smaller group of producers and investors gains.

There's so much riding on his success in turning Hungary around... Orbán will have left some boobytraps for him, of course, but how he reshapes the Hungarian constitution will be critical for how the EU moves forward in other countries where r/w populists are dominating. I wish him every success.
