And listen to Prince. Start with ‘Sign O The Times’ and you’ll be fine 💜

I’ve listened to Prince pretty much for two days solid. I’ve not done that since the nineties.
There’s stuff happening (obviously) and there are people I love I’m worrying about right now, but… I feel positive and I think it’ll be okay.
Listen to music. Support music. (Not AI because fuck that shit)

Priceless post from the official White House social media

Everyday I see someone post something that the President has posted or said or done and I think to myself that it must be satire or AI or *somehow* not real (goddamit)... and it's always real.

Is there a way you can mute the seemingly unstoppable wave of promo for the abomination that is the Jackson biopic?Because I've just gone to transfer some files to a colleague and that bastard is moonwalking across the screen like the nineties never happened.

I’m so sorry, mate. Sending strength

Live: Minnesota remembers Prince 10 years after his death A decade after the global rock star died at his Chanhassen estate, fans flock to the Twin Cities to reflect on his legacy as Prince’s music continues to resonate.

Some of the other stories I gathered here include the time Prince invited me to his house, a glimpse at the Myst-like CD-ROM game he released in the 90s, some digital artifacts that I had the only copy of—including Prince’s own notes on his greatest hits, and the message behind his Super Bowl show.

Just other stuff that was going on in my life around the time he died. His timing was very inconvenient for me... 🙃

Still remember the moment I found out. On the other site via a post from fucking TMZ... a fatality at Paisley Park. And I knew. Dammit.

Today usually sucks for me but BBC 6 Music has been playing Prince most of the day and Craig Charles is currently doing a special on Wendy and Lisa and it is making everything better.

Or… you know, the links between the Leave campaign, UKIP, Brexit Party and Reform to dodgy funding and dark money.

I wish some of the people in the media who suddenly seem very concerned about national security had given half as many fucks about Boris Johnson losing his security detail to party with an ex-KGB agent and popping that man’s son into the House of Lords…

The Jackson estate can't hide Leaving Neverland from those who've already seen it A suppressive legal battle turned the moving Sundance documentary Leaving Neverland into a ghost haunting the Michael Jackson biopic.

I will never forget the experience of seeing LEAVING NEVERLAND at its Sundance premiere. For @avclub.com I wrote about a devastating, definitive documentary about surviving sexual abuse that cannot be erased.

Hearing next door cheering the football and realising they definitely heard the (near-perfect) rendition of the opening of the overture from Don Giovanni ten minutes ago… 😬

Formulating my novel where two stars of a cult teen show reunite in later life, fall in love and team up with the rest of the remaining teen-drama cast to bring down the evil cult that one of them accidentally married into, and free the imprisoned wife of the cult leader in the process.

I have this concert on dvd and two audio CDs but I am still watching on BBC because we need to use and protect it for when we get it back from the fascist apologists currently running it…

TBH it makes me livid because there’s no way I’m touching the USA until that orange fucker and all his minions are gone. And I have a big birthday in two years and it would be my dream to visit and see what Dan saw…

I think he sent a message like this to everyone who bought his prints. An invitation to Minneapolis.

Uncovered in one of my books - a message from Minneapolis artist, Dan Lacey, whose art hangs in my office/garden room. I never met Dan and he died in 2022 from brain cancer. During his illness he painted some truly beautiful psychedelic works featuring Prince and Paisley Park.

Pepsi dropped her because of that. Fucking Pepsi. For the audacity of including a black guy in a video. And he’s still ‘leader of the free world’ even though he posted *himself* as Christ.

I did a round on the eighties for our pub quiz on Thursday and one of the questions was why Pope John Paul II asked people to boycott Madonna in 1989. The answer was, of course, because the Like A Prayer video was ‘blasphemous’. The eighties… when blasphemy fucking meant something, man.

I spent a lot of the nineties wearing rosaries because of Madonna.

Between Woke Pope and Sabrina Carpenter’s backing dancers wearing Blonde Ambition Tour black cassocks for ‘Like A Prayer’, I am giving serious consideration to joining the Catholic Church.
