Every single person who thinks a trans person should just pipe down until we restore democracy is, in my view, an enemy of democracy.

I’m not doing it.

You sold me on a bunch of games that might never have come to my attention otherwise.

I wish on JK Rowling everything that she wishes upon trans people.

And after hearing about the moderator actions taken in defense of Rowling, I’m not exactly inclined to increase my participation here.

Would these be the same script kiddies who set up the Department of Government Excess website that got *checks notes* hacked within days of being set up?

Feel safe?

Are we great yet?

Boston is a target because they're trying to make an example of it without losing any political points. That said, what is taking place with the Tufts student is a dire warning for what could take elsewhere.

Rumeysa Ozturk, a Tufts Student, Is Detained by ICE The university was told that the student’s visa had been terminated, its president said in a late-night email to students and faculty members.

Free speech warriors and conservatives who fight for the First Amendment and bla bla bla, please defend this.

Oh it’s simple. “I’m going use something you did as justification for what I was going to do anyway.”

You know, the “you were asking for it” defense. It’s a key part of the abuser playbook.

It’s engrained in the system at *every* level, not just lawyers. But IMO the real issue is Wall Street.

Corporate officers have a legal responsibility to maximize profits, and Wall Street has gotten more and more focused on the short-term because of the ease & speed of buying & selling.

And even if it’s not legal, the individuals involved in the decisionmaking rarely get punished. The corporation has to pay a minuscule fine, which is just a price of doing business.

I think the main reason to avoid unfairness and inconsistency is that they undermine the ability of the players to make interesting decisions—so they’re actually covered by inference.

The quest for a teacher is a story that’s frequently missing from RPGs.

It could make interesting adventure fodder at important breakpoints (e.g. D&D tiers)

(although in a large group, you’d have to be careful what you required for this, so as not to make the game constantly about training)

Felt like that was a good one to start with, since the only thing I’ve been doing on the other site lately has been reporting on the antics of anti-abortionists.

Abortions are healthcare.
