It was JFrog all along! Was finally able to ask my developers today about my issue. Apparently, we use JFrog to authenticate and if you don't have it setup you can't install dependencies.

What I did technically worked but it wouldn't work going forward if I wanted to commit code back to the repo.

It impressed me quite a bit within 10 minutes of using it about 6 months ago and it keeps getting better all the time. I should check it out again soon to see how things are progressing.

I FIGURED IT OUT! HOOOLLLY SHIIII Cooking with gas now! I had to delete the “package-lock.json” file cloned from the repo and then run “sudo npm install --legacy-peer deps” AND IT WORKED!! 🥳

Now come to find out it may not even be my fault. Some sort of potential bug or issue with Bitbucket private repos and authentication 😩
