Only award E33 shouldn't have even been up for was best indie. They fucking say that Kepler was their publisher DURING the show lol, on top of all the other moolah they got for development. The show is still ass for any reasonable credibility and the categories suck but still kudos to my GOTY.

Something I've definitely learned as I've gotten older, games do not inherently have to "be fun" to be good. As long as the purpose for a decision is in the service of elevating something like a theme or narrative it's all fair game. Bonus points for doing something that a game itself can only do.

Hard Mode: No Star Wars/Trek, LOTR, or Marvel.

Got the main ending of Hades II. I'm not the biggest fan of it story wise but it at least answered my question of how it'd recontextualize the runs.

Still, excellent game. Now to finish off the hard mode boss runs and finish off a couple other things.

I was hoping it wouldn't happen but Dandadan pulled the trigger on the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles plotline...and I hope it doesn't stick for long 😭

Still haven't cleared final top boss on hard mode yet because the preceding fights are brutal for certain weapons. Gonna be doing my story clears first with no modifiers before resuming the insanity. Curious how they'll recontextualize the runs like Hades 1 once you do the 10 clears or whatever.

Bouncing between Hades 2 and Silksong when Silksong hits me with too big a wall. Even though I can very confidently sweep through either top or bottom in Hades (dagger secret aspect is insane), it's fun watching people realize how much harder top is. Wait until they do the hard mode of them.

I just want the ability to, even if instant restart ala Metaphor isn't feasible, to at least be able to just instantly restart the fight after party wipe. Deaths can happen incredibly quickly and I don't wanna wait for the jingle, slight reload, walk to the fight, and punch it over and over.
