See, Tolkien is *exactly* my kind of obsessive. This tree is called what it is bc some elf 3000 years ago and wrote a song abt it and it’s not as good in Common so I’ll sing it so you can understand and then I will explain THOROUGHLY all the divergences from Quenya omg shoot it into my veins lmfao

Yeah that was supporting your argument, not arguing. You’re right and that’s a fair praise/critique depending on personal preference
a clear sense of “this is where we came from, this is what we’re living through, this is what comes next” and I think that’s healthy for people to have modeled
You can say what you want about Tolkien and Martin but their history backgrounds aren’t limited to “Norse Rohirrim” or “based on the Wars of the Roses” but
I agree, like if that’s not your jam that’s fine. Collaborate with someone else, see if another system works better for you, idc. You have options
An acquaintance told me today that they use AI to plan out their D&D campaigns and my mind broke. Like I can kind of conceive of how you might offload drudgery chores for work but if you don’t like planning D&D campaigns why are you even DMing idgi
@rainbowofcrazy.bsky.social and anyone else:
You must must MUST read “Stopping by the Jungle on a Snowy Evening” by Richard T Morris
Scrapple. No contest.
Do I get to choose the city? Because there are some good options, some good but unaffordable even with the raise options, and some Hell No options
2 people fighting over the bathroom. 1 person decides to solve the issue by peeing on the books.
I….. have never…..
and i worked in a downtown library for years. All the people who sneer at “those patrons” but NONE OF THEM EVER PEED ON THE FUCKING BOOKS ON PURPOSE!
I Can’t.
Y’all.
(It’s been years back but) a MFL type lady checked out a book she found objectionable, opened it to the center page, laid it on the floor, dropped trou and shat on the open book
I was off that day and only heard about it afterward but the image is vivid
Oh that’s on my list too!
I’m a big believer in “don’t ask, don’t get” lmao
I would like funding, a raise, a full shelf of decodables, fewer meetings, and a desk where I can see wtf is going on in the play area
I kept hitting snooze this morning and falling back into a dream where I kept hitting snooze and the two weren’t lining up and my time sense, such as it is, is going to be absolutely fucked today, I can already tell
Into the Woods
Possibly! But every happily ever after ends in wealth and poor characters (except Our Virtuous Hero, who will soon be deservedly rich) routinely lack any agency
Well. Let’s say Dickens and I disagree somewhat on the laudability of cutting edge and revolutionary mechanisms of social change.
Great writer. Tried hard. Didn’t always get there lol
If it makes you feel any better I wore my “Mme Defarge’s Knitting Academy: Cutting Edge and Revolutionary” t shirt to work for a year and a half before The Powers That Be got wise
I am a librarian
Thanks!
Thank you
Ok serious question, I did this before but it looks different. If my pronouns are he/him do I leave she set at off or do I set to hide it?
Interesting that I found out about the death (and life) of Celeste Depuy-Spencer from the New York Times this morning. No one on this website I could find has even mentioned the death of a famous trans[masculine] artist at 46.

IN INFORMATION SCIENCE FMLLLL
I really doubt they’re doing that. Because at the end of the day, they want the viewpoints of white Christian conservative cishet men to be taught and damn the costs.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get off my soapbox and work on my PhD application. Although I’m less sure why every goddamn day
This is a naked power play. If Harvard *really* cared about viewpoint diversity, they would ensure their pro-Palestine protests were treated with respect and even handedness. They would fund tf out of gender studies, African American experience majors, etc etc.
This is not educating students. This is providing false information to people who are paying a katrillion dollars for AN ACTUAL FUCKING EDUCATION. And it all sounds, forgive the expression, academic… but what happens when the medical doctor is taught by a professor that birth control causes cancer?
*goose meme here* Which departments, motherfucker??
There are, probably honestly, departments in which conservative voices are lacking. That’s because accepted science in those departments has discredited conservative thinking
So… creationist guy in bio? Anti-trans guy in psych?
Once again, viewpoint diversity is not neutral. So here we have Harvard, citing a discredited author without scientific background in their assessment of whether or not they need more conservative voices “seeded across departments.”
this race-bending the new musketeers thing is taking it way too far, next they'll be claiming Dumas was black or something
