Funny to think that 2 years ago I was hanging out with Christina Koch and Jessica Meir at Johnson Space Center, looking at photos of Jessica's baby on her phone. Today, they are both in space. Christina's on her way to the Moon and Jessica is back on the ISS.

Had a good time signing my book Sunday afternoon, with fellow author Michael Williams, at the Writers’ League of Texas booth as part of the Texas Book Festival in downtown Austin, TX. Congress Avenue was shut down from 7th Street to the State Capitol for the festival.

Spoke about NASA to a group of Australian high school students at Space Center Houston this morning. They're attending the Space Center U program, a week-long hands-on STEM program.

Apollo 8 was my favorite. First time that humans traveled to another celestial body.

Just got my invitation from NASA to attend the Astronaut Group 24 announcement at JSC on Sept. 22. Can't wait to see who the new AsCans (Astronaut Candidates) are that were selected from 8,000 applicants. Hoping one of my friends was selected.

A few pics from our NASA Alumni League book fair at the Johnson Space Center cafeteria last week. Loved getting to talk to the current NASA employees and share stories. Other authors were Marianne Dyson, Debbie Trainor, & George Salazar.

Saw my book in a university library for the first time last week, at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. It was next to my friend Debbie Trainor's book (From Tortillas to Astronauts) in the New Arrivals section. The library is home to our NASA Alumni League Human Spaceflight history collection.

Spent most of this weekend hanging out with classmates Dionne Stafford and Faith Freeman (Johnson) at our high school (located near JSC) reunion. Lots of good stories from those Gemini/Apollo days. Many other NASA folks and family members were there, also. What a great place to grow up.

Celebrating World Theatre Day with a flashback to playing Doc Myers in the comedy “Leading Ladies” a few years ago - giving bad news to Reverend Woolery (played by my friend Bob Townsend) in this scene. Would love to get back on the stage.

A NASA employee grabbing a selfie (1st photo) with me and my NASA Alumni League author friends as we signed books in the Johnson Space Center cafeteria yesterday. I love going back there for visits and where better to discuss books we’ve written about working at JSC than with JSC employees?

Placed a rose at the tree dedicated to astronaut Tom Stafford last week at JSC. That’s Joe Acaba, Chief of the Astronaut Office, behind me. Many other astronauts attended, including Jessica Meir (2nd photo). Had a chance to talk with astronaut Bill McArthur (3rd photo) before the ceremony began.

Today, for just the 2nd time in my life, my photo was on the front page of a newspaper (in East Texas). The story was about the event at the Remembering Columbia Museum in Hemphill, TX, on the 22nd anniversary of the Columbia accident where I spoke and signed copies of my book over the weekend.

Book Review: From Apollo to Artemis by Herb Baker FROM APOLLO TO ARTEMIS: Stories from My 50 Years with NASA by Herb Baker is An amusing and informative memoir about NASA from the inside. Reviewed by Nikolas Mavreas.

Loved this review of my book: "an inviting tour inside the everyday reality of working at NASA" and a "light and fun discussion about the organization and the people that made it work."
