“Imagination doesnt erase nightmares but it can repurpose them with an elaborate sensemaking or troublemaking. And if imagination leads to troublemaking, is it any wonder that those in power work tirelessly to squash radical imagination that dares to envision a world where all can thrive?” #booksky

“Important and galvanizing.” Senator Bernie Sanders
Among many gems, fun highlights also include: 1) a young @samreich asking his dad to wake him up after being away for work and 2) a young Hillary Rodham with her hand raised for every question at law school while Bill never shows up for class lol.
Current read: “From political economist @robertreich, a lucid, impassioned argument that America's working class has been systematically betrayed—not by one party alone, but by a bipartisan baby-boom America that made progress in certain areas, but fell short in so many important ways.”

At the Grammy's in 1976, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme explained what jazz is.
The result? The crowd losing its mind. 🔥
“Death is fast, doom is slow.” Johanna Hedva detonates a bomb in our collective understanding of care & illness. Radical reimagining of a world where care & pain are symbiotic reminds us that illness is neither inconvenience nor inevitability but an enlivening elemental part of being alive. #booksky
@laurenjoyfraley - but have you tried flashes (by Bluesky) yet? Nice to integrate it all in one spot.
THE FOX WIFE READ BY THE AUTHOR a novel YANGSZE CHOO New York Times bestselling author of The Night Tiger A woman in red walks across white snow with a blue scene of trees in the background.

“Some think foxes are similar to ghosts because we go around collecting qi, but nothing could be further than the truth. We are living creatures, just like you, only usually better looking” #booksky

#caturday 🎹 🐈⬛
I immediately think of this letter that @matthewremski.bsky.social once received from a friend 💛

Sometimes I am still this same little sour kid, feeling this same little sour way about the tragic absurdity of the world.
just another cozy #caturday afternoon staying inside from the freezing #cleveland rain

THIS 😂
“Both told ideastream they ‘go to the bathroom standing up.’
Unfortunately followup didn't reveal whether Hairston & Starr go both No. 1 & No. 2 while standing up, nor does it address the discomfort of a sexual harassment allegation response that forces us to imagine someone's genitals.”
When my nephew saw this in the sky tonight, he said he thought it looked like someone winking at us 😘
Me: *holds up the screen*

@livingintheshire.bsky.social - Just saw your post and you’re so right about the Ghibli feeling 🥰 Much needed magic and whimsy in these times.
A lavender skyline with clouds, moon and paper boats amidst yellow lights peeking through the skyline. White text overlay says the name of the book and author: Water moon by Samantha Soto Yamabao
Current audio bedtime story: “A woman inherits a pawnshop where you can sell your regrets, and then joins a charming physicist on a magical journey to find her father — by way of rain puddles, rides on paper cranes, the bridge between midnight and morning, and a night market in the clouds.” #booksky
You know me. I will always be proud of my incendiary origins with a dash of that musical theater kid powder keg, but I’m also a proud convert of the well-balanced group you’re referencing. I endorse this message.
Have a cozy #caturday night
❤️ Love from Earlee and Newbie
Ha, I love that! I gathered a collection of paperbacks in the early 00’s and seem to remember feeling that way with Galapagos — which I’m now seeing was written in ‘86. Everyone who has their Cubism phase gets their “Blue period” and “Rose period” too I suppose.
Thanks for the tips! ✌🏻
Rereading my tattered paperback of Godbless you, Mr. Rosewater because, after all, when it comes to writers like #vonnegut, they’re “the only ones with guts enough to really care about the future, to really notice what machines do to us, what war does to us… what catastrophes do to us.”

Cheers to both tuning in and tuning out, friend.
Thank you!! 💪🏻
Cheers! Any tips or wisdom after archiving your ig content? I’m exhausted from saving all my facebook photos on my day off today and would love to know if there are shortcuts for doing it on ig!
Still figuring out Bluesky, but let’s put a little #octaviabutler into the world today.
