Got app toolbar in Safari to dynamically use current colors on randoma11y.com - took me 6 hours longer than I expected to figure out but I think it was worth it. Before and after video.
Pretty simple "magic gem" mesh using Three.js convex hull and TSL for materials. This sort of object has always been satisfying to me. Really simple stuff.
I wanted a way to explore Unicode by visual similarity, not just by name or codepoint, so I built Charcutrie.
It lets you browse characters that look alike, search across scripts and symbols, and even sketch a shape to find matching glyphs. (pretty badly for now :D)

half the speed of the hour hand of a clock
2. 1000 mph is the approximate surface motion at the equator, but it's less at other latitudes (0 mph at poles!)
3. The rotation rate is about 15 degrees / hour (i.e., 360 degrees / 24 hours), so for a one-minute video, it's only 0.25 degrees of rotation -- would be very hard to notice!

Been thinking about how much JavaScript we ship for basic UI patterns. Wrote it up.
Anchor positioning, Popover API, Scroll-Driven Animations and more — what they replace and what's still missing 👉 blog.gitbutler.com/the-great-cs...
Real DOM content in a canvas: fully searchable, translatable, inspectable.
You can have forms, add WebGL effects & much more.
Imagine if this was a customizable select 🤯
A little WIP exploration (not finished) for a very exciting API.

DOOM fully rendered in CSS. Every surface is a <div> that has a background image, with a clipping path with 3D transforms applied. Of course CSS does not have a movable camera, so we rotate and translate the scene around the user.
Really can't wait to try out the new JavaScript Tempura APi

Exciting! Request for developer feedback: focusgroup HTML attribute "a proposed declarative way to add keyboard arrow-key navigation to composite widgets such as toolbars, tablists, menus, listboxes, etc. Replaces hundreds of lines of JavaScript boilerplate." developer.chrome.com/blog/focusgr...
Initial prototype of a `<toolbar>` element is coming along. Largely piggybacks off the focusgroup code so it's actually quite simple to do.
Lots to discuss and tweak before it's finished but got to start somewhere.

The Rug Doctor ad meme. text “The” is superimposed over a woman’s smiling face. next, “WHAT” in capital letters is superimposed over an uncomfortable closeup of her face as she stares thousands of yards into the distance
I knew Josh Travis was doing playthroughs on Twitch but this is amazing news
