I’m reminded of the enshitiffication (not sure I spelled it right) process where dependency on a narrowing group of private competitors invites both financial exploitation and ever worsening ethical and consumer standards.

This👇🏼. AOC is the only one stating it clearly and plainly. Do I have any faith that the American people will ever elect a woman president someday? No. I hope I’m proven wrong.

This was a fun one for me to write. It's the Angine de Poitrine argument for universal basic income. We could have more weird, awesome, truly human stuff like this if we all had UBI. We could have more Einsteins too. And because those things are true, the cost of NOT doing UBI isn't worth it.
I’m very much looking forward to meeting @profkepickett.bsky.social
Far from being "eaten alive", traditional landowning and capitalist elites prospered under Fascism, and even those convicted of promoting it were quickly rehabilitated in the postwar years in Western Europe (immediately in Italy and after cursory denazification in Germany).
How little we understand about the damage we are doing on this #PoisonedPlanet

New essay from me coming out tomorrow morning that could end up being my favorite of the year. It combines Albert Einstein, Ireland's Basic Income for Artists, and Angine de Poitrine into a big case for Universal Basic Income. If you're not already subscribed, click below.

“You have to stop listening in categories. The music is either good or it's bad.”
— Duke Ellington
Loved his music, an intelligent man.
Hannah added: “I get offended when I hear the argument made that it is working class. Working-class people are fed up with gambling companies being able to wreak havoc in people’s lives.”

Meanwhile, the richest 1% alone will receive $117 billion in tax CUTS in 2026.
Never forget who Trump governs for.

since JD Vance is new to Catholicism, let me explain that when the head Bishop writes a public letter specifically calling out your theological errors and reminding you that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ, that's considered "bad"
It's reverse Robin Hood.

The richest 0.1 percent of the global population are hiding nearly $3 trillion in offshore accounts to evade taxes — more than the wealth held by the entire bottom half of humanity.
It would take about $93 billion per year to eradicate extreme hunger by 2030.
Taxing the rich is a global necessity.
In 1953 Iran had a functioning democracy. A free press. Seven political parties. Women in universities. Women granted voting rights in municipal councils in 1952. A secular prime minister named Mosaddegh who believed Iran's oil belonged to Iran. The US and Britain decided he had to go.
The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it.
This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.
Welcome to International Intentional War Crimes Day.
