Hi! vgmstream has also been recently updated, the PR adding support for Prime 4's CSMP format was merged only 4 days ago. I grabbed the most recent foobar2000 plugin from vgmstream.org and was able to play/convert MP4's audio with that.

IMO MP4 handles beam ammo a lot better than MP2, it feels like a resource to be spent/conserved instead of a fundamental aspect of combat made arbitrarily limited. Whatever complaints I have about other aspects of MP4, it feels like the most polished combat in the series.
