What happens when you delete a ChatGPT conversation?

Most people assume it’s gone for good. But it’s not that simple.

In this piece, I unpack how OpenAI’s retention policy works, what gets deleted, and what lingers.

Most people turn assumptions about a single event into expectations that carry the projection of the desired event.

Better read that again.

As human beings, we tend to fall for this often.

Today's newsletter that dives deeper into it:

The Pentagon blacklisted Claude as a "supply-chain risk" for refusing autonomous weapons and mass surveillance. Anthropic fired back with a First Amendment lawsuit naming Hegseth, Rubio, Lutnick. #AI #Ethics #Privacy

I'm glad I'm there. If only in the outer circle, lol.

Hope you have a beautiful evening.

22% conversion rate on my new LinkedIn newsletter now.
Very happy with the progress.

Now, most people would be like:
"you have to build a LinkedIn newsletter or else you'll miss out!!"

Neglecting, that it's just a tactic.
And tactics only work, if your foundation is on point.

17.4% conversion rate on my new newsletter within 24h.

Wow.

(yes, I'm aware the invitation was only send to my 115 connections on LinkedIn and that's a low statistics, but still)

Let's see how this unfolds, it looks like the right direction.

I've got a newsletter now on LinkedIn and published the first issue today.

New connections automatically get invited (not subscribed of course, that's up to them).

An important foundational step and part of my flywheel.

One of the best ways to use AI: build a garden with it!

I loved the 3 prompts, they gave me many new ideas for my own garden.

To grow delicious edibles.
To attract more pollinators.
To create a beautiful garden full of life.

Thanks Mike :)

I want to thank everyone who has tried these nerdy garden prompts, lol.

They have gotten surprisingly good reviews.

(I was honestly kinda scared everyone would hate them + yell at us.)

The article is 100% free, by the way.

🌱 Many gardeners hate #AI. They think it's synthetic, extractive, disconnected from the earth.

But you can use AI to plan an EPIC spring garden.

AI can also help local pollinators by identifying the BEST native shrubs for your grow zone.

I'm very selective when it comes to reading newsletters.

And I found one that I enjoy a lot.
Witty, unique, informative and entertaining.

It's @pithycyborg.bsky.social written by @mrcomputerscience.bsky.social

Do you have a favorite too?

While working on it, I also cross checked with a fun prompt that @mrcomputerscience.bsky.social created:

Sometimes I wonder.
I've been working on creating json instructions for (and with) AI so that it creates reproducible results in several areas.

The jsons get longer and longer while my criteria aren't fulfilled.

What am I missing here?

Probably writing the jsons myself now.

Thank you. This is really well put.

The idea that privacy has to be resisted for rather than designed in says a lot about who these systems are actually serving.

Hope you have a beautiful day.
