Today is Earth Day, but each year it can feel a little more like Groundhog Day.
While we replay the same pipeline debates in Canada, the rest of the world is racing ahead on renewable energy — which is growing so fast that it met all new electricity demand in 2025.

Mostly because it was clunky to use on phone. I think they improved it but I never got into the daily habit of checking it without an app
The new logo for Infowars has been revealed.
The Onion has successfully landed a deal to take over Alex Jones' site after 17 months of legal issues.
Tim Heidecker will serve as the site's creative director.
She kept trying to dash out the door so I am hoping supervised outside time will mitigate that. Long term I'd like to build a catio.
It’s earth day!!
🌎 plant a pesticide free native 🌱
🌎 switch your energy supplier to a renewable
🌎 take transit instead of an uber
🌎 then make fun of your friends (lovingly) for taking Ubers when the train is right! there!
🌎 heckle your family members. About whatever you want! It’s earth day!!!
I have been harness training my cat, spending about 15 min a day in the backyard, and although there's not much landscaping besides grass it's still been very pleasant to just. Be outside without my phone enjoying nature.
Clawing your way out of poverty IS a huge achievement! Never forget it.
President usually doesn't control gas prices but when Dumbass McGee shuts down 20% of all global oil/gas shipping with no plan...
Part of why I have kept the comics... I feel I will want to reread them at some point even if I may have a different view on some stories given what we now know. And the art is lovely.
Will probably skip Calliope tho. 😬
Yeah Sandman had a huge impact on me as a teen, particularly the section about Lucifer just. Fucking leaving. Blew my tiny (very religious) mind. That and Good Omens started me asking a lot of questions. And I'd never seen a comic that wasn't superheroes or jokes before.
What appealed to you about it? This one was my least favorite of his. I liked the concept but thought it was too long and trying too hard to be Important Literature.
If there are folks who would like to design a couple of "FUND OUR LOCAL PUBLIC LIBRARIES" posters, holler at me at niapoetry@gmail.com and please tell me your rate for this. Poster size would be 11 by 17 landscape size.
I need to print some posters for a forthcoming event.
My friends and I have a spooky movie night every couple weeks and a few of us always linger after so we can scream about politics. Very cathartic.
They get very excited when I draw a cool dragon or whatever and I get to draw a cool dragon.
Another hack for kids: ability to talk about Pokemon. They go all "YOU know about POKEMON?! 🤯🤩"
That's gorgeous. I love these amber pieces.
Extremely buried actual point:
"If we don’t preserve nest sites and someone paves over them, we could lose—in an instant—5.5 million bees that are important pollinators."
In college I had a gig doing face painting and was thrilled to be the artist who would do weird requests for whatever animal they wanted. That was fun.
Yeah. I have basically no material instincts and definitely don't want kids of my own, but they seem to like me and I do my best to be nice to them. I'm an artist so I usually do doodles on command and they act like I'm a wizard.
Genuinely embarrassing the way the US is failing to invest in renewables.
Media needs to stop with "critics say" and just quote the actual language of the bill.
HB 249 creates a new category of "seminudity" which can be used to arrest women who aren't nude, but are wearing clothing — leggings, t-shirts without bras — that religious groups feel is too provocative.
This would be horrific no matter what it was referring to. But "cleaning up the risk pool" by eliminating vaccines just means you kill a bunch of people WHILE ALSO creating a whole new "risk pool" of people with post-viral issues.
Huzzah! I want the book too but we will see if finances allow.
But I have been waiting three years for this ending.
"I could be doing more" after doing several impossible things is such a mood.
Medallion for Bloodcarver confirmed? 👀
So will Part 3 be book only?
I'm not seeing any captions, a transcript would definitely be appreciated
An animated movie of Lanterns of Arcadia would be pretty amazing. 💜
Me writing: haha yeah! Yes! This will be so cool, I can draw ANYTHING, I can draw EVERYTHING, I'm so powerful
